very impressed...Tesla called me promptly at 7:30am today, dispatched a truck and trailer and got to my house about 11am! They dropped off a nice Model X for me to drive (I get to play with autopilot) and said they will call me in the morning when they know whats up. They watched my youtube video and said it sounds like maybe even the battery is going bad?

If thats the case, they said the procedure goes like this (because its a "classic VIN Battery")

1. Install new battery,
2. Bring car back to me
3. Send battery to california for refurbishment (3-4 months)
4. Ship battery back to Raleigh
5. They bring me another loaner, bring my car in, put MY battery back in my car, and bring my car back

Sounds messed up. I'd think they'd just leave the new battery in?

I will have more info in a few hours :)

Jealous you got an X as a loaner-- I want to do a long term demo of an X for my wife but havent been able to secure one.

Silver lining. (also, I have a 2013 85 and have loved it FWIW)

Good luck!
