Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

Same with mine, like the flicked the "on" switch as it came off the factory line. Mine is on the truck headed east, but the day it came up on the app, my IDS said the car was complete.

My VIN first appeared on the iPhone 2/8, I picked it up from the Dallas service center on 2/15. For me it seemed mine had finished production when it appeared on the iPhone.

I received my Final MVPA today. Estimated delivery is March 25 in Albuquerque. That's the last day of the window given when I filled out the Delivery questionnaire. My IDS, Sara, says my S will go through the Denver service center. Of course, I hope it will arrive sooner. Time will tell. My VIN has not shown up in the iPhone app, but I don't expect it to until much closer to delivery, based on other posts in this thread.

Mine also appeared in the app the day the car was finished. I remember a DS saying early on that there were problems with the phone app trying to contact cars that were still on the line, so it makes sense that they don't enable this until the end of manufacturing.

Got my full VIN via email today (5990). Car is reportedly on the truck headed to Rockville, MD with arrival middle of next week. If I pick up there it might be ready by weekend of 3/9. I'm a 3.5 hour car/train ride from there, so haven't decided if I'll suck it up and wait the extra week or so for home delivery.

I'm betting on the train ride! Looks as though they're right on schedule. I'm 6283. Window is 6-20 March.

Vin 6366 is showing up in the app now. Does this mean my car is built? :)

Probably. And this being the last day of February I have calculated the February Model S production to 1818 cars, give or take about 50. That is 454 per week or ~91 per day in a 5 day workweek.

Edit:Numbers updated with the 6419 reported in the next post.

Time from VIN notification in app to delivery???

for those of y'all who have received their cars recently or about to receive them, how long has it been since finding the VIN in the app to actually getting the car?

i just got my VIN 6419 and have a delivery date of march 14-28. i presume it'll arrive somewhere in the middle or so.

Got a phone call from Tesla three days ago informing me that my car would be ready for pickup in Westchester, NY this Saturday. As would be expected, I'm elated! My enthusiasm is slightly tempered by what I would consider a poor job of communication by Tesla personnel. I called my Product Specialist the following day to ask if there would be any due bill items, specifically the HPWC. He couldn't tell me. Since then I've had NO communication from Tesla. There are a few things that would be helpful: exactly WHERE is Westchester County am I picking up the car?; what time should I show up?; where is the final MVPA?; and what's my VIN? So far, I don't know any of this, and I'd at least like to be able to plan my day Saturday, as someone has to drive me to pickup the car.

I'm trying hard to not be impatient about this. Perhaps it's just that I'm more excited about this car than anything else I've ever purchased.

Anyway, I will post pics when I finally take delivery.

Lay off the caffeine. They will contact you soon enough with more details.

I received my Final MVPA today. Estimated delivery is March 27 in Florida. That's the last day of the window given when I filled out the Delivery questionnaire. My IDS, Sara, has been great! Of course, I hope it will arrive sooner. My VIN has not shown up in the iPhone app.

2 major mile stones left:

1 - See it show up in the app.
2 - Hit the pedal to the metal when I get the car

Just ordered the kids shirts to go with their jump seat in the back!

Just out of curiosity, when the app tries to connect, do you get a "could not connect" message, or a "remote access is not enabled" message. Not that I'm sure of the significance, but I'm trying to figure out if there is one.

No, it doesn't say anything like that. In the top left corner is the VIN. Then a dialogue box pops up saying "Mobile App Remote Access is OFF","Turn Remote Access ON from the vehicle's touchscreen by going to Controls>Settings>Vehicle"[Retry][Account]. The only button I can select is [account]. [retry] just brings up the same message. When I go to the account page, it shows my login email, and gives me the buttons to [cancel] or [sign-out]. The home/controls/charge/climate/location buttons at the bottom are greyed out.

I hope you're kidding UMD86... Tesla does do a horrid job as far as customer service before receiving the car - well actually none (is that better than horrid?).

IMO Tesla has been great. I don't sweat the small stuff and I've learned over time to lower my expectations. Tesla has notified me each step of the way and I've responded promptly. They called me 4 days ago and said my car was ready but I will be out of town for the next 3 weeks and they rescheduled my delivery date. It was very nice of them since it will be outside of my delivery window. Low expectations means I will never be disappointed. Or maybe because I switched to DECAF? just kidding

Have you ever ordered a car before?

BMW or Ferrari?

The car is ready when it's ready. You order the car from BMW and 4 months later (depending on model of course) you get a call that the car is ready t the dealership.

There is no app, there is no online filling out of paperwork, there is no early VIN, there is no firm delivery window.

I am curious what ordering experience you are comparing Tesla against.
