Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

Well, my delivery window of 12/15-12/31 has now come and gone. I still have not even been given a VIN. Nobody at Tesla is able to provide any information (including my DS). The My Tesla page has shown my car in production for over 3 weeks, but my DS states that production has yet to begin. He doesn't know when it will. Reservation holders greater than 3500 spots below mine have gotten their VIN. Emails, phone calls, etc. and no concrete information in response. "We're a new/small company...please be patient." That worked for me for a couple of weeks. Now it's becoming a tired excuse.

Extremely frustrated. Any suggestions?!

Saw my delivery button today as well. I'm not sure exactly when it first appeared since there was no related email. Tesla should fix this lack of notification, since they've trained us all to look for emails, although I suspect its appearance was pretty recent. For those anticipating their "button", from my experience (East Coast P85) it looks like it's under two weeks from signed paperwork to the delivery button, and 4-6 weeks from that to delivery (my window is January 30th-February 13th).

Did that, button still there. Redirecting to Sign into My Tesla | Tesla Motors, then auto-redirecting back to /mytesla.

I'll give the west coast a chance to finish their coffee, and then I'll shoot off an email to Tesla.

i'm having the same issue with the Delivery button. just redirects back to mytesla.

tried 3 different browsers and reset all... no luck. let me know what you hear from them!

Wow, great news for someone so close to a P10,000 reservation #. Is it me, or do we seem to have more San Diego folks active here/buying Model S's than those in LA? I know we can't catch the bay area, but it should good SoCal competition.

Great news indeed! And yep, I've noticed that. Tons of San Diego people! Quite the opposite of the other car forums I belong to (MBWorld and Challengertalk), where most of the SoCal people are in LA rather than SD.

Just to be safe as far as all the incentives go, I am finishing up the paperwork and wiring the money today so it will be counted as a 2012 purchase. Unfortunately, to do this I can't pick it up after Jan 1st (need to fly to Fremont), so the car will be delivered to me. In order for them to record it as a 2012 sale, they must have the paperwork, money, and car loaded on a truck.

Thank you!

Do you have a current delivery date range?

Only delivery range I have is the Pre-MVPA Feb-Mar range. The people I've been talking to are sticking to that for now. My guess is in a week or two I've get a more specific range based on the talks here. I'd really like to lock in a financing rate and I'm hesistant to do that without a more concrete range. Hopefully the whole fiscal cliff stuff doesn't ruin the good rates I'm seeing.

From the time they told me my car was ready to the time it arrived at the service center in Queens was almost two weeks. It was then delivered that week. But I'm guessing things took a bit longer because of the holidays. Where in NY are you?

My car seems to have been put on a truck last night heading to NY. How long has it been taking to gt to NY?

Despite our car leaving the factory on 12/21, 10 days was apparently not enough time to travel 800 miles, so count us as yet another missed delivery window by Tesla. As best I can tell the car has been sitting in Portland for about 5 days. Would have been much quicker to just drive down and get it ourselves. Have not had any updates from Tesla since Friday, and my request for a status from our store today has gone unanswered. Assuming the car will likely show up later this week. We're still WAY ahead of when we expected to be getting the car, but let's hope they get this worked out in 2013.

Interesting 48 hours - found out my car was ahead of schedule for delivery and that it could still got on the truck in 2012 if I scrambled to make sure PenFed could confirm my loan. Was assigned VIN 3277. Reservation sequence number #6366. Performance, grey exterior, black interior, pano, carbon fiber, and all the other options except for third row seats. Delivery specialist confirmed the car was done today and loaded on the truck for delivery. What is most fascinating however is that it appears I got a model year 2013 VIN with the letter "D" rather than "C".

I'm in a similar boat. My car is also stuck in Portland. I live in Eugene so my car literally drove by me on the way there. My understanding is that the union controlling the drivers who deliver from the hub has decided that they're not delivering until 1/2. Apparently this lockdown began on Saturday. I've been told that I might see my car on Thursday or Friday but there's not guarantee because they can't even contact the delivery people to set up a schedule. I spoke with my DS today (even though he's technically off work, he called from his cell phone) and they're pretty frustrated/pissed by the whole thing, too.

Truck driver called at noon. He'll be here at 3:30 today.

Congrats, Todd! Did it arrive yet? If so, you're probably too busy testing it out...

Yesterday I heard my car was likely to arrive later this week, but today I got a call from my DS indicating that it may arrive today. (My S didn't have as far to travel since I live in LA.) Hope it comes soon, otherwise I may not get it until Wednesday unless the carriers are working on New Years Day.
