I don't have many photos of the car. There haven't been many sunny days here since I took delivery. I took one today in the sun. I will try to post it tonight.

hi, I have been following this thread for a couple of weeks now.. Really cool to see everybody seems really happy with the car. I have some questions:
- If a car with VIN for example 3000 gets delivered, does it mean Tesla produced and delivered 3000 cars? Or do test cars/showroom cars also get a VIN?
- Did they hit the 3000 vehicle deliveries target in 2012?
Thanks guys and happy driving!

My car was delivered today to the house today and my DS came out to meet the driver and car. I absolutely love the car and a couple of friends came out to take part in the delivery process.

Everything that has been said is correct...the car rocks! It came with a full charge and the only glitch was it took the DS some fiddling to get the pano roof to open for the first time. The car did come pretty dirty but I am going to take it to my detailer to get it done inside and out. Tesla has agreed to pick up the tab for me.

Good lord the wait is certainly worth it. I have never been so excited to go to work tomorrow so I can drive the car again.

Thanks--BTW it looks awesome in that pic, very bluish compared to what I remembered. :-D Congrats again!

Awesome! And man...another higher-#-than-me in NoVA. Come on, Tesla-- where's the love? ;-)

BTW I'm surprised it came with a full charge!

Just a data point for those collecting such data. I picked up my Model S on 12/23 and some time between 2 PM and 9 PM PST "My Tesla" page went from "The factory is building your Model S" to "Delivered" and showing my VIN instead of the RN#. Have others noticed this? Is TM doing these in batches or does two weeks sound about right?

Like I said, just another data point for those interested.

Mine also made this change. I got mine on the 15th of last month, so they either updated a big batch of accounts or fixed up a bug that was preventing syncing of delivery state between their back office systems and the website.

They claimed just over 250 deliveries in Q3 and they were shooting for 2500-3000 deliveries in Q4 (not all of 2012). It appears they've pushed out VINs in the mid 3000's right before the 1st of the year. However, there's lots of room for error with delayed deliveries and batching that may have moved some of those 3000+ VINs slightly ahead of ones below them. I would say 2700 deliveries would be safe bet for Q4, so right in the middle of their range. They definitely beat the minimum, though!

Way back at post # 1684 on this thread, I reported our Model S delivery but had the same problem trying to post pics. I just tried again using these tips and here is what I get. Does anyone see the pic? Never mind. I do. It isn't nearly as good as much of what we see on this site, but I thought for anyone who remembers Mr. T, the t-shirt my friend gave me for the delivery was worth sharing. [Mr. T's favorite expression was "I pity the fool" referring to anyone foolish enough to cross him.]

Here is a better pic (better because my better half is in front of me). Note how in the bright sunlight, my Silver Bullet can look white.

My how I love this car! I'm also really enjoying everyone else's stories. One has to do something while charging!

I was transferring plates from a previous car, and Tesla took all my info to make that happen. They gave me the go-ahead to put the plates that I was transferring onto the car, but they still had a temporary tag (a very small piece of paper) that the stuck onto the back window. Theoretically, the new registration will come in the mail (with your new plates, possibly?) Worst case, you take your registration to the DMV or maybe you can apply online).

Anyway, hopefully you have your car by now, and your delivery specialist got you all the information that you needed. Welcome to the club :)

Just received a call that my car should be delivered tomorrow night! So excited but what about paperwork, registration and plates? I live in NY so tesla is supposed to do that for me but I don't have anything yet. What have others seen/done?

I guess that means me. He bounced me out of a bar once (before he was famous). I tried to get in with a fake ID....
a few months later he was on the "Worlds Greatest Bouncer Comptition" TV show.
Showing my age... I must have been about 2 years old at the time...

I think as soon as the vehicle is turned over to the delivery company that it is considered 'sold' in Tesla's books. So even if many vehicles have yet to reach their final destination delivered to a customer, those cars in transit or at least now responsible by the delivery company are all marked down as 'sold' in Q4. I think that is logistically correct (though I'm not an accounting expert). With that said, I think Tesla easily reached near 3000 in Q4.

Just received 3,092! Dark green/ tan performance. Arrived in the dark so still haven't really seen it well. No plates but tesla is fedexing a package to me, presumably with temp tags.

Had to drive the car 1 mile to my house with no tags, a little scary. Car is happily in the garage now awaiting plates. More details tonight. Thanks to all of the contributors to this forum for the earth of information and advice.
@theautstin, I look forward to a meet up at the candy kitchen or perhaps Cameron beach.

I received #2,674 on 1/6 in Bellevue, WA. Came in a covered truck (yes!), fully detailed, looking gorgeous. 25 miles on it, about 150 miles of range left.

Didn't have plates yet, local Bellevue store emailed me a PDF of temp plates that day. Only issue was a missing panel for the rear trunk to cover the compartment where the kids feet go if you have that accessory.

Unfortunately, had to go to Vegas for CES, so now it is sitting in the airport, interested to see where the battery is after a 4 day sit at ~40 degrees.

I had a similar bumpy delivery experience as to many who have posted here in the "December rush" but thanks to Garrett Hatch, the hero DS, it all came together in the end and I am one very happy customer.

Props to everyone who has been posting in this thread and other, the info was invaluable and really helped me through the process.

What production number?

Congrats, Adstein! Another long wait is over...Looking forward to meeting up at some point :)
