Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I'm not quite sure how any of you are getting date estimates. When I e-mailed two different people I know at Tesla, I got the same stock answer.

E-mail from Tesla Product Specialist:

Thanks for your note. Based on your date of reservation and reservation sequence number, you can expect to take delivery of your Model S during October/November. As we get closer (and have a better ideo of the ramp-up time frame) we'll be able to provide much more exact estimates.

When called and got a similar answer, however, when i mentioned that I was within 30 days I got transferred and got another estimate. I would not suggest calling though if you aren't within 30 days of your estimated delivery.

The purpose of this thread is to:

Post a quick update of the most recent delivery data reported e.g. Last Delivery/reference link "Founders 11 June 22nd --http://www.teslamotors.com/model-s-has-arrived" . Please keep commentary to a minimum. Another option would be for TMC to post a banner on the Model S page with last delivery (why not throw in the finalize data too!)

Can we separate this thread into two. I believe from reading the above quote that this thread was intended to record Actual not Estimated deliveries. It would be nice to have a separate thread for Estimated deliveries. For actual deliveries via Tesla's blog we can now solidly say that the number of cars is "...29 that are either already in the hands of their new owners or on their way via Tesla Personal Delivery."

You are correct this thread was intended to be more data-based ... but alas, it is already 5 pages long ... any news from TMC on a numerical banner with latest delivery data ???

Too many other threads already exist for delivery discussions/estimates:

@joefee - The multiplicity of threads is a symptom of (hopefully near-term) impatience.

If mods decide to restructure the threads on reservations, confirmations, configurations/finalizations, ETAs, and actual deliveries, I'd recommend that doing so wait until we have at least 2 SSL owners with pictures of them with their keys to minimize risk of potentially starting yet another set of "almost delivered" threads.

Hi Brian,

I sent a facebook message to Jason McCabe Calacanis requesting that he post here when his Model S "VIN #00000000001" is delivered. Not surprisingly I haven't received a response, but if he doesn't post here its likely he will post on his facebook page so we'll have a data point. I'm guessing that it is already awaiting Elon's inspection.

From the official Tesla forum:

Sig 0000001 uncloaking

JasonC | August 5, 2012

A bunch of folks have asked who has the first Sig and when will it be delivered.... well, I'm the owner of Sig 00000001 and I got an email from my delivery specialist saying the week of August 18th.
For the record, August was when the contract said it would arrive, so I'm feeling really good about getting it in August (I'm a Roadster owner and that bad boy took a couple of extra days ;-).
Additionally, the Founder Series that delivered in late June is getting rave reviews. I talked to one of the Founders Series owners and he said it has blown his mind (he owns a roadster too... and was an early investor).
He said it's like 100x the car that the Roadster was.
I'm so excited!

So that makes the count at least 42 by the week of August 18th (41 founders + 1Sig).

So that's the week of *August 12 - * August 18th? Or do you figure weeks differently?

Manufacturing weeks, at least in the tire industry, are generally counted by actual production run periods. For example if there is a holiday on Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday might be week 24 while Thursday and Friday would be week 25, so there are more than 52 weeks per year. How many varies depending upon how the holidays work out.

So that's the week of *August 12 - * August 18th? Or do you figure weeks differently?

For Founders Series owners Rod and Barbara the official Tesla communications stated:

"1. Are you available to take delivery from 7/29/12 through 8/4/12?"

August 4th being a Saturday, I would infer that delivery would be the week of August 12 - August 18th, with August 18th also being a Saturday.
