Ordered 90D on 7/22 - Estimated Delivery was Late August
Order confirmed on on 7/29 - Estimated Delivery on MyTesla - September
Received a call from Delivery Specialist on 7/31 - Estimated Delivery first 2 weeks of September

Model S 90D: Deep Blue, Tan Next Gen Seats, Pano, Autopilot, Subzero, Premium

Do we have a "tacking P90D deliveries"? I'm very curious about initial deliveries and Ludicrous launch!!!

I'm wondering if the P90D has a different value than the 90D.

Hopefully will go into production any day now (I'm assuming refreshing the mytesla page repeatedly gets it built faster, right? :tongue:)

I'm VIN 97585. Ordered 7/10, confirmed 7/17. I'm still in production queue and says September. How is that possible when I am almost 1000 ahead of you?

Orders are not assigned VINs in the same order they receive them. They are assigned in the order they believe they will produce them in. However, as new orders come in their optimal order changes. So they move cars around and they don't end up producing them in VIN sequence order. The VIN sequence is nothing more than a unique identifier for the car. You can't draw conclusions from it.

Okay, but what about the fact that I placed my order 10 days before him and was confirmed 10 days before?

You're in Ohio. He's in Washington. More volume of cars going to Washington. Less going to Ohio. If Tesla made your car sooner you'd be posting about how ridiculous it is that the car sat around for some number of weeks before being shipped. As it is people still complain about how many days they sit around. This happens because Tesla fills up a truck to go to a service center (even when they ship partly by rail they end up combining cars on trucks going from the rail yard to the service center). They're not going to ship one car and then another car a few days later and then another car a few days after that. So if the service center you're planning to pickup from sells 12 cars a month and the carrier is full already for August, you're waiting until September. Also Tesla wants to minimize the time from when they produce the car till you get it. Tesla manufacturers a significant amount of the car themselves from raw materials (metal and plastic beads come in, car goes out). So the longer the car sits around or is in transit to you the longer it is till they get the money back to pay for the raw materials they used to make your car. The more float capital they have to have to keep everything going and they may be paying interest on that capital.
