Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I ordered my MS 75D on 2/26/18. It had said June delivery at the time. 2 weeks later I received a call that my car was going into production the last week of March. My car has now been delivered to my local dealer and I have my appointment for pickup this Saturday, 3/31/18. So excited!! - MS 75D midnight sliver with white seats :)

That's awesome! I took delivery of my S75D at the Rocklin Service Center last week. The car is amazing - I hope you will like it as much as I like mine.

Your car already has the new maps? How are they?
I only drove it 17 miles, I found the maps on the instrument cluster to be more informative and useful and nimbly zoomed in and out at appropriate times. The service technician was in the car when I initiated a route. When the voice guidance came on, he said “that’s different, she’s had kind of sultry voice.”

75D, Silver metallic with silver wheels. Black, premium interior with carbon fiber, glass roof and cold weather package. It sure is difficult waiting...first EV for me. I should have just pulled the trigger months ago.

Yes, I didnt realize how hard this wait is. I feel the same. I debated it too long and didnt understand the process.I figured I could find a new inventory model without any problems.. Nope! Oh well.. I didnt see your name on this spreadsheet, add your vehicle!

My first post here so go easy on me if I mess something up!

I took delivery Wednesday night. 75D Model S, Midnight Sliver, Sonic Carbin wheels, Black interior, I think everything else is ‘standard’ - and yes I have the new mcu in case anyone is wondering :)

Took delivery of a P100D inventory car. I love the car! However, I did have some issues that I would like to share.

  1. During communications with my delivery specialist I requested inspection results. After several communications I was finally told they do not provide a report and that if any issues outside normal wear and tear for inventory car would be handled. To be honest, this was super sketchy for me and I almost cancelled my order.
  2. Day of delivery, no time to fully checkout the car. The center specialist walked me into a garage with specilal lighting which made the cars look great! While walking up to the car I was told standard info regarding the Model S. I was instructed to perform tasks to verify I understand the standard features. It was brief and I felt pressure to leave as they needed to perform additional tasks regarding paperwork.
  3. After paperwork was signed, I waited and they drove the car to the front of the center congratulating me on the purchase. They had other folks lined up, once again I felt a little rushed to get out of there.
  4. The drive home (300 miles) was surreal. The car drives like nothing else, I was in-love :)
  5. Arrived home. The car was dirty from the drive, it needed a good wash. I washed the car and discovered issues :(
  6. The car had a major wheel scratches on the right rear.
  7. Both of the front fenders have odd bents in them.
  8. The right rear door handle is oddly sucked in, needs adjustment.
  9. The rear bumper had a 5" mark that looked like a scratch. I was able to remove the mark.
  10. I communicated with my delivery specialist and was told to communicate with a service center.
  11. I reached out to the service center and was instructed to send photos. It's now three days later and I have not obtained an update. I called and was told there are delays and to allow another two business days for an update. The service center is 200 miles away from me :(
I believe Tesla will make good on the items that were damage. I just wished they sent me a report prior to delivery.
I find it odd that for such an expensive car they would allow this to occur.

Mine felt a bit rushed too, but I made them walk around the car with me as i pointed out paint blemishes :)
I eventually told the delivery specialist that it’d be better if he just wrote up a service request to have the entire car touched up.

The car has been at the SC since Wednesday, but I’m driving the hell out of the loaner in the meantime.

Same on my end, the delivery experience was definitely rushed. @bcamacho, sounds like you took delivery in Fremont? I agree with you in that the lights they used in the delivery center made it very difficult to inspect the car and the Customer Experience Specialist was in a hurry to get me out of there so they could close out their other deliveries in advance of quarter end. I took my car straight to the detailer to get ceramic coat and ClearBra applied and the invoice stated "2 steps paint correction, paint has DA sand marks from dealer."

In other news, I stopped by the Fremont Delivery Center today for kicks and it was basically a block party. In addition to the many vehicle deliveries, they had a DJ playing music over loud speakers and a food truck serving complimentary food to everyone.

Folks - What's the latest software that includes new Nav update? Do you guys have it?
I have it on my March 2018 MS100D (New MCU) 2018.12.

Brief clip of New Nav IC maps & new sultry voice, new exit graphics. New MCU March 2018 Build Model S 100D - 2018.12 - first drive after taking delivery, so less than 20 miles on odometer at the time. Drove it straight to the shop to be wrapped on Wednesday. Still there with only 24 miles.
Shot several clips. This was the least shaky & in focus. No music in background.
