Picked up my car yesterday. The grin started immediately. What an amazing car to drive. It's everything I hoped it would be. Funny that unlike a conventional car, there are a ton of things to do after you get this. Read more forum and blog posts. Read through the tips, tricks and manuals. Apply for CA rebates. Play with Tesla App. And learn how to drive with re-gen braking! (very cool -- just takes some getting used to) Fortunately it will be in the 80s this week so it will be a great week to have the top down and enjoy the ride. Well, after work at least. Here are some pics. (is there a bad picture of this car out there?)

BEAUTIFUL CAR!
But seeing and reading this is getting me frustrated with Tesla for the 1st time during this process.

Cheers3893 has a res number 3500 higher than mine, he reserved 6 weeks later than me, received his countersigned paperwork 10 days after I did and he now has his car. My delivery window is March 29-April 12!

What gives???????

From reading other posts, it seems to be a matter of luck in terms of Tesla's batch processing. I got a bit lucky (it seems) to have chosen the right combination of color and options that matched up with their batch processing plans.

Tesla's been cranking on 85's for a while now. I reserved in November and received my finalization email request on 1/11, finalized my 60 within a week, but then made some changes, so my resulting finalize date was 1/25. They had been working on 60's beginning of the year. I saw a bunch of folks get their 60's in February, but my delivery window was pushed to 3/29 to 4/12. When did you finalize?

I share the same sentiments as MAPC. I finalized my 60 on 2/6 and have yet to receive a delivery window. However, i see many with 85 who configured in late Feb have received the delivery Window. Clearly, the Tesla's goal is the keep the customer paying top $$s (85) a priority, rest are a crowd. Very frustrating.

Tesla is pushing hard to be profitable or close to it in Q1, no surprise higher margin vehicles are a priority. Obviously frustrating for those who have to wait but probably necessary for the health of the company.

Well Q1 is done from new delivery perspective. They can't book Q1 revenue unless the owner takes physical possession, so all bets are off for March delivery for folks who don't yet have the delivery button. At this time, I just want Tesla to come back and tell "when" in April (if at all!) and that's the frustrating part because those details aren't coming through at all. A lot of folks (waiting for 60 and other configs) have March-April delivery window so pretty reasonable expectation to have.

So I just checked the mobile app, and I got my VIN # 7128...
My delivery specialist contacted my last week for setting up a delivery date, but I was having trouble getting financing (Bethpage Credit Union in Long Island worked out in the end) so almost had to cancel my reservation. The weekend was quite a mess, I got a call from someone on the Delivery team saying that they wouldn't give me my deposit back, or let me transfer it to another reservation number. I was extremely frusterated because my Delivery Specialist, the person I had been in contact with in Financing, and the store manager where I put down my deposit had told me the exact opposite. So I emailed Elon, who replied in less than 2 hours, and said that they should be able to transfer my deposit to another reservation number.
Luckily though, I spoke to the manager at Bethpage CU today morning and was able to get a loan for $100,000 72-months @ 2.71% within minutes. So now my car is being built, and its expected to arrive on the East coast by the 21st. I'm going to be away, and plan on taking delivery on 4/19 so photos, and a complete writeup will be posted in about a month and half.
Here is my timeline in case anyone is curious.
1/11/13- Visited Tesla Showroom for the first time ever!
1/12/13- Test drove the Model S performance with my parents
1/14/13- Put down $5,000 deposit and reserved my car: Res. # 18,278
2/04/13- Got my 'Finalize' button, built my car: Awesome, I also received my finalize button today.
Got the finalize button at 8:34PM, Reservation #18,278. Finalized my car at 9:42
Tesla Model S Performance, Pearl White, All Glass Panoramic, Carbon Fiber Spoiler, 19" Wheels, Tan Interior, Carbon Fiber Decor, Tech Package, Sound Package, Paint Armor, Twin Chargers + High Power Wall Connector.
Initial delivery window: March/April
2/10/13- Received my Delivery button... Delivery Estimate March 13-March 27
3/07/13- Received call from Delivery Specialist saying that the car would be on the East Cost ready for pickup by 3/21.
3/11/13- Acquired financing for the vehicle, and pushed back delivery date to 4/19 since I'll be traveling.

Sshivras, I agree, it isn't easy to wait. But, I'm just gonna be as patient as I can. Tesla's fighting a several fronted war and I think they are largely succeeding. But at times, it won't feel great. Others have waited and have had issues its their spot in the sequence and only drove themselves a bit crazy (see Changyy, J ). In the end , when they got their MS, all the angst melted away.

I do suspect our Delivery buttons are right around the corner. Yours probably slightly ahead of mine (you had countersigned Pre-MVPA one day earlier and I went its the rare Brown vs. more common White, otherwise our configs are identical). Hang in there.

Very reasonable explanation. I just assumed that the assembly line had been setup for the 85 kWh packs and did not want to switch to 60 or 40 kWh packs. But I like your explanation better.

My final post on this Thread. Picked up Reservation 14409, VIN 6273 this afternoon. Nothing on Due Bill. The badging was not on the rear however several cars delivered this morning did have it. Our DS said the Service Center would put it on if we wanted it. No Cargo net, as this is not a standard item.
One suprise is the tires. We went with the 21" wheels and it came with Michelin Pilot Sport RadialX 245/35/ZR21 tires!Studio Sound was awesome. No problems with bass on this system. I would call it very Flat when Tone is set to 0 on Bass, Mid and Treble. Tested it with Emerson/Lake/Palmer Trilogy from a USB drive in m4a format and it sounded great.
NP85 Grey/Grey/Lacewood/Pano/Sound/Air/Tech/Twin/21" (Did not order Parcel Shelf, kids seats or HPWC)
Truly a wonderful vehicle. Thanks Tesla.

Unfortunately, there is language that says opt-in is limited to cars bought in GA. Interestingly they define bought outside of GA in a weird way: "If you buy a vehicle from an out-of-state source over the Internet, and the Internet site or company collects a fee of any kind for processing the sale, that site or company becomes a broker for the sale, and sales tax will be due. This can also apply to purchases over the Internet from individuals. "

HUGE RELIEF: I just returned from the Gwinnett tag office where I was informed that they eliminated the "out-of-state purchase" restriction for opting-in last Tuesday (Mar 5th); however they have yet to update their systems to remove this restriction, so I was asked to return in a few weeks (after calling the Motor Vehicles dept for Gwinnett at 770-822-8818 to check on it before standing in line again).

First post, I tried to enter this info into the entry form for the GoogleDocs spreadsheet in the 2nd post, but it didn't take. When I was waiting I studied these religiously, here's another bit of info for those of you waiting:

Jan 29 Reservation completed. Reservation sequence number 18,759
Feb 9 Submitted finalized configuration
Feb 11 Received paperwork to sign, and signed the pre-MVPA
Feb 11 Delivery window given of Mar-Apr
Mar 8 Received "delivery button" email and entered my delivery info
Mar 12 Scheduled pickup for March 21 (but they said it will be available at the Denver Service Ctr by Mar 16)

VIN# 7242. 85 kwh Performance, tech package, sound, parcel shelf, blue metallic

WooHoo!

Nice photos. Couldn't resist to add some to the photo album here. Hope that's alright with you.

OK AMP'd - here are some pics. The first is coming off of the truck 2 days ago. Today the wife and I drove up to Devil's Backbone Brewery in Wintergreen, VA for lunch. About an 80 mile round trip.Never would have done a drive like that just for lunch in any other car. Remainder of the pics are in the parking lot of the brewery. Also included is my poor effort at the Tesla "T", complete with Tesla grin!
