Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Honestly, the seat wrinkles are not bad enough for me to seriously worry about them. If Tesla fixes it it'll be great but if they won't I will not b*tch about it. I do want them to replace the front trim around the screen since it is the area that is constantly stared at by everyone in the car so I'd want those wrinkles around the screen gone. For me a bigger issue than the seat wrinkles is the seats themselves. I still do not find them to be more comfortable than my old model S, however, that car was a test drive unit with 2,700 miles on it lol so may be it had several morbidly obese occupants who broke the seats right in for my comfort 🤣
I do hope you resolve the seat comfort issue. Maybe find another local Plaid and compare the seats.

On the bright side you may have found your next avatar. And I'm still not seeing the wrinkles...

As someone who is helping others take delivery soon, one of the best written and pertinent posts I've seen.

Too bad Tesla can't provide this information.
My delivery specialist heavily emphasized that I had "100 miles" to report any issues. He also said time didn't matter (although yeah, the 24 hour rule sounds like the way to go for me). Not sure if this varies by area, but this was also different from my past deliveries. Your best bet is to make a service appointment with a picture/notes during that window.

Highly recommend you go hand wash your car within 24 hours or at least go to an area with good light, and do a full look at the interior and exterior. Cosmetic stuff is the main thing to be afraid of--it's a bit of work convincing them to fix it if it wasn't in the initial post-delivery service appt report.

I do wonder based on your feedback if Tesla had to get a new supplier for the white seats, and that the construction and "comfort" factor may be impacted. I say this because I have test sat a few Plaids an LR refresh S's at local delivery center and found the seats to be super comfortable. This was for a 10-20 minute mediation, not a few hour journey, so I'm not drawing any conclusion until I get serious butt time in mine. I do hope yours break-in and make you and gf happy with the acquisition...I know it will bother me if the seats are meaningfully less comfortable than the 750 I'm giving up.
The refresh seats are actually weird to me. They feel comfortable, but are definitely not as squishy as my Model 3. I want to say they're more comfortable, but it's hard to identify why. I think a combination of the ventillation + width and sides is probably why.

Re: the wrinkles: I have wrinkes on the bottom of the back seats, which probably need to be replaced. On the front seats I have some small wrinkles near where the bottom of your neck touches. I suspect they had some manufacturing issues, but i'm not going to pursue it. I documented it and will harass them if it gets worse over the next few years, but who knows.

Black interior FYI, so those wrinkling issues may apply to multiple interiors? Or maybe just super random... who knows.

Does anyone know how we can pull up our driving history in the app? I hit request beta but not seeing anything in the app
Right now, only the iOS Tesla app has been updated to show this. The Android app technically *has* been, but it's not on the official store yet; you have to go through alternative means to acquire it.

And there's a catch with the iOS version... You may need to navigate to the actual Tesla app page on the App Store in order to get the "Update" button to appear; trying to update it through the "apps that need an update" tab won't work, nor will looking at the Tesla app in the "search results" page on the app store... you need to drill all the way down to the Tesla app information page on the app store.

Once your app has been updated, and you have pushed The Beta Button (and, of course, clicked all the requisite "agree" boxes), the "Safety Score (beta)" option will appear in the app.

There was no update but reinstalling the app seemed to do the trick for me:

I need to work on my turning and following distance. Following distance will be tough because in my area people get mad if I leave a gap and try to squeeze in

Time for me to get on the highway and drive 65 mph with a huge follow distance then!

Do you know if you get dinged for speeding/fast acceleration? I dont see that in the FAQ and i've been driving in chill mode... 😅
Supposedly, if it's not listed here, then you're not judged for it. :D

And there's no mention of going over the speed limit, or acceleration... thankfully!

You got a "stealth" update when you re-installed...

For some reason, the App Store really has been having a hard time lately with showing when updates are available on some apps, and it really seems to be common with the Tesla app.

In two of the three places that the App Store has a button that switches between "Open" or "Update," it'll show an Open button instead of the correct Update button. But when you "re-install" the app, you're getting the latest version, which includes the Safety Score screen.

Maybe they forgot to list it? Surely doing 0-60 launches on public roads will do some damage to our driving scores? LOL
I can neither confirm nor deny that I may/may not have done several/no launches in my Model 3 Performance in the desert yesterday.

Those existent/non-existent launches didn't change my score, though. Managed to get 99% yesterday over 120 miles driven. :D

That's awesome. I may/may not re-activate Plaid mode and may/may not do some launches.

Need some PPF guidance/recommendations here for when the car gets delivered... Got the below quotes on a full matte wrap, leaning towards the more expensive one as their customer service has been superior so far and the shop looks a lot cleaner/put together.

Detail Authority - $6,500 XPEL Ultimate Plus (+ headlights/fog lights)
APS - $5,500 Suntek Ultra Film

As far as I know... Detail Authority removes cameras and everything so the PPF sits behind them (don't know what common practice is here?). Anyone in the DC Area have experience with either company and is there really any reason I shouldn't go with the cheaper option? Same warranty on both.

Appreciate any information at all... First Tesla, never heard of PPF before this forum... help.

D'oh, sorry about that.... I'm guilty of doing exactly that.

Last off topic post from me here. Promise.

Well, right after I post this video, anyway. ;)

This guy's YouTube channel is chock full of nerdy information... right up my alley. Just throwing it out there for the other nerds among us... or am I the only one? AGAIN??? :D
