After 10 long months I finally took delivery of my car last night, 2 days before my scheduled delivery date.
I was told last week that my car should arrive on Monday and be ready for delivery on Wednesday. Being paranoid of shipping delays I went up to the service center at 5pm Monday to ask in person if the car has indeed arrive. They confirmed it was on the premises. Like any self respecting reservation holder I immediately searched the parking lot for my car and found it in pristine condition on the side of the building. It was about 50% through installing 2021.40.6. I immediately checked
Tesla Software Update Release Notes - Latest Tesla Updates and was happy to see that’s the latest version available.
I proceeded to linger for about 15 minutes walking around the car, taking pictures. Just as I had gotten back in my car and was preparing to leave a Tesla employee walked out to check the car. I immediately hopped out of my car and started a quick convo about the car and that I was awaiting delivery on Wednesday but I was hoping to get it sooner, like tomorrow if possible. He said he’d go inside and talk to a deliver specialist with more info.
Ten minutes later he returns and said they were preparing my paper work and I could pick it up tonight. My jaw would have hit the pavement if I wasn’t grinning so widely. An hour later I was driving home with my car.
After waiting 10 months and being delayed 8 months from the expected April delivery, getting it 2 days early was a nice gift.
It was dark by the time I took delivery, but I have a few pictures from before delivery when I was stalking the car.
