Can confirm the same and was told the same when taking delivery. They also refused to take it off because they are legally not allowed to. The delivery specialist I was working with hypothesized that someone at Tesla corporate/Fremont forgot to take it off for the official NHTSA crash test day and they were stuck with having to deliver them all that way now. Smh… Models 3, Y, and X do not have the front plate bracket on at delivery.

Why is this even an issue for people? It is soooo minor in the bigger scope of things. It‘s such an easy fix if that’s what you want to do. Non issue for me. I removed mine and am using a Snapplate unit. You can also use a QuickBandit If you want.

It’s an eyesore on such a beautiful vehicle, but agreed, it’s an easy “fix”. Also, some states (like the one I’m in) requires the front license plate. Some drivers in those states don’t want to risk getting hassled about it when they get pulled over for a moving violation, and would also rather keep it on. I suppose for those folks, this is not an issue at all, despite how it looks.

It is required in CA also. I got a fix it ticket once at the airport parking garage.$25 fine. No active enforcement anyway.

Yea, been riding around in California with my BMW 6 Series and Plaid without a front plate and hasn’t been an issue with the cops. But, I sure do appreciate them and the law enforcement that they provide for this country.

Ordered MSLR on March 6, 2022. White exterior black interior. 21 inch wheels. Several changes in delivery dates. Two days ago, went from 9-4-2022 through to the new window of 9-7-2022 through 9-28-2022. RN 1166. Anyone else with a similar window? My mercedes S450 lease is up on the 12th. Hoping I can atleast get a VIN notification by then.

Yea, been riding around in California with my BMW 6 Series and Plaid without a front plate and hasn’t been an issue with the cops. But, I sure do appreciate them and the law enforcement that they provide for this country.

Tinting of driver side window is also illegal. One time I was at the tinting store and the other guy waiting was a cop. He said as long as I do not tint it too dark, I am fine. However, you can get a cop in bad mood if you are stopped for something else and he can make you remove the tint.

Just ordered my Model S Plaid yesterday. MSM, white interior, 19” wheels.
It has been about a year since I bought my last Tesla and I seem to remember seeing date ranges instead of month ranges as an EDD as I’m seeing in the attached photo. Just curious when I will start seeing actual date ranges as an EDD? I completed the registration info, etc. and I am paying cash. I live in Maine and did not get the option to pick the car up in Paramus, NJ (I was given the option last time from what I remember). I do not want to take the home delivery option. I assume most of this will iron out once a SA contacts me but just want to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Have to admit Im a bit ticked off seeing model Y and Model 3 performance orders coming in weeks. You would think that the Model S would be a premium car with some semblance of love to the purchasers. In reality, the Y and 3 are Teslas bread and butter. Thats what they push out and care about.

Ordered MSLR black ext, white int with 21” and FSD on 3/16 and current EDD is 9/12 through 10/3. RN 1167 but no vin assigned yet.

I know that kind of pattern. That's not what I have, and you can see in the photo below. The left-most notch is what I believe is not supposed to be there. The one just to the right, is one of two shutters you can see if you pull up to a wall and view the pattern. The longer one, doesn't show up when you pull up to a wall. I'd be interested to know if others have this same long notch.

My pattern isn’t quite like that. I have two notches, one on each headlight. You seem to have something a little different.

Adaptive Front Lighting System ?​

I can't find anything that indicates it is working... Or if I even have it. Car built on 8/22/22

Thanks. I think all the internals to move the internal components are there. My 2014 BMW did adjust the beams over hills and turns. Why can't my 2022 Tesla?
