Model S doors unlocking while driving

Strange!! While driving to Tesla Service today I was following my wife as she was driving her model S. Driving on the highway at 70mph I pulled up next to her and I noticed that the door handles came out when I backed off a little they went back in. Every time that I pulled next to her the door handles came out. Is this normal or is this something Tesla is working on to correct.

Did you have the other cars Key Fob in your pocket? Or... Is it a refresh Model S that uses the phone as a key?

Your phone key or fob shouldn’t unlock a car that isn’t parked. Maybe your wife was messing with you.

My car does this as well. It’s usually when decelerating, and sometimes they will continue to present, retract and present…over and over. It’s pretty damn embarrassing. I’ve found if I use the screen to unlock and relock it will subside. Car is a 2021 Plaid

2022 Model S refresh. Took delivery Dec 16, 2021. I was sitting at a traffic light a few weeks ago and the door handles cycled in and out multiple times. Using my iphone as key. No other keys or fobs present. iPhone 13 pro sitting on the normal charging area.

It hasn't happened since. I'll assume it is a software bug.

It might be the limit switches inside the door handle, the wiring has a high failure rate just as it exits the microswitch (intermittent contact?)

I thought the new handles (Gen 3?) were completely redesigned and were not prone to the microswitch/wiring failure any longer. This sounds more like a software issue.
