i found some old discussion for Pre-Facelift Model S in this forum but was wondering if an AWD retrofit might be possible for the facelifts?
At least for Model 3 it seems to be "relatively" straightforward as you just need to add the front drive unit (maybe a different battery pack as you need the second HV connector there), some wiring and it works even without any additional programming since the front engine as slaves just listen on the bus for activity of the main back unit Here Are The Steps Required To Turn A Tesla Model 3 RWD Into AWD
So I was thinking if that could be the case for Model S Facelifts as well? It might be even easier since it has a front junction box where you can just plug in the front HV cables.
Anyone experience with that?
(and of course it might not be worth to do it or "I could sell my car and buy one with AWD" but this is all about the fun of DIY
