Model S Fixed Glass Roof Replacement Cost

Hello there..

Quite disappointed today that my Model S glass roof shattered due to a heavy branch falling vertically above the driver’s seat.

I am based in the U.K.

Has anyone replaced the roof glass? If yes, how much did it cost?

In US, a lot of insurance providers have glass policies that cover all non moving glass which covers the all glass roof. I've seen the cost as 1800 USD but that was 2 years ago. Should be cheaper the main issue is it's a tough install and messy and often never as well sealed as factory. Good luck sorry to hear about the weather damage.

So long as all the old urethane was cleaned off and the surface prepped correctly the new glass will seal just fine. Not to mention that urethane is just squirted out of a Milwaukee caulking gun by an associate at the factory, then flipped over on a rotisserie before a suction powered lift assist run by another associate, installs the glass. Plenty of MS fail the "hurricane" water test only to have the glass reinstalled the exact same way.
