Model S Long Range now $5,000 cheaper

Well, I guess the joy of having my new Raven for about three weeks cost me $5,000. The
Long Range version is now cheaper than last month. The news is reporting it incorrectly as a price increase because they are comparing the lowest cost option from June to the lowest today. That’s not apples to apples as they no longer offer the standard range as of today. Apples to apples it’s a $5,000 price decrease.

I didn’t expect to lose some extra depreciation in month one, but I can offset some of the loss with the extra $1,875 of tax credit.

That’s a special thank you to those customers who helped Tesla meet their Q2 sales goal...

What was the old price on the Model S basic LR configuration is now $79,990 ?

All the price and package changes these last few months have made it a bit of a minefield when it comes to pushing the 'buy' button.

I certainly have sympathy for people who bought the wrong side of one of the more significant changes.

Personally I'm still very happy with my PCP purchase from last year as with the current residual at around half what it was last year, and interest rates around twice what I'm paying, my monthly cost remains below anything I could get right now.

Agree with you.

We are in the process of buying a second EV, and this does give me a bit of a pause on buying a second Tesla. There isn’t as much risk on a 3 vs an S, and it now looks like the 3 we had priced out is now $3 less, but if we had bought our S with ludicrous and three weeks later it was free, I am sure I would be a bit upset.

I’m not sure if I ever would have even used it because the performance S is plenty fast as is, but the lack of defined model years and over the air upgrades has its advantages and disadvantages depending on which side of the coin you wind up on.

Yep, it's kind of ridiculous now.

I had put money down for a used P100DL, but they just effectively lowered the base price for that from $116,000 to $99,000. Not the same deal any more.

Like for example they're selling a P100DL with 35,000 miles on it and no options (with the pearl white color too, which is now the basic color) for $92,800. You can get a new one for $99,000.... so 2 years and 35,000 miles later the depreciation is only 7 percent? Sure thing.

$5,010 cheaper. I emailed my sales specialist to see if my order will be adjusted. I ordered LR last week and don’t even have the VIN yet. I read on UK forum people saying that everyone who hasn’t got delivered will be adjusted. I hope so in US as well. I could use that money for Xpel. I understand it sucks for those of you who already got it, but this seems to happen almost every quarter. Especially if rebate drops.

Amazing. Long range is now cheaper than my 70D was in 2015, even though it now has air suspension and the better audio system and various other goodies that were extra then. But if only there was a sunroof option....

It really is amazing. I've been periodically going in and customizing what I'd order now over the past several months. Now, a Raven Long Range optioned out like I want it, is $20,000 less than my 2015 85D that I bought 4 years ago. With 100 more miles of range, FSD capable, etc.

I think everyone for their own mental health should decide not to check the forums or price changes for at least 6 months post-order.
