Yes it kills range. This was about 2000 lbs going 60-65 mph. 80% increase in wh/mi

I love being able to keep and eye on it.

Nice trailer. I will be looking at getting a Dump Trailer next year. I would rather have a Trailer like that when I get stone or take up to 5,000 lbs of crap to the landfill. Instead of them dumping the stone in the pickup bed with the Bobcat just dump it in the Trailer.

Does it have brakes?
Yes. But I don’t have the S wired (yet).
I currently have lights on the trailer that activate on decelerating. And wireless remote for signals. Not fully legal but good enough. I typically don’t tow that far. And I don’t load it that heavy.

I was thinking of mounting the brake controller in the trailer. Since it has a battery for the dumping. I just need to make a harness. Worried brakes will get ruined if I don’t use them enough. I used to use it with a Model X with brake controller.

It’s a 5,000 GVWR trailer that weighs 2,000 lbs. Model S is rated for 3,500 pounds. So I can only haul 1500 pounds. Hence Model S LR 1500 ;)

You’d need about 8,000 pound towing capacity to haul 5,000 lbs of crap.
