Model S options

A place to discuss features that could be optional on Model S.

I will start it off with:
  • Sport model ( 0-60 in 4.4 instead of 5.6 - requires 300 mile pack )
  • 230 mile pack or 300 mile pack ( beyond base 160 mile )
  • 21" wheel upgrade (instead of 19")
  • Aerodynamic wheel upgrade
  • Adjustable height 'air' suspension.
  • Panoramic Moonroof
  • Interior wood trim options
  • Metallic or Premium Paint
  • Custom paint colors(?)
  • 2nd charger (20kW total instead of 10kW)
  • HPC (20kW home EVSE, if you need more than the likely included 10kW UMC2)
  • Add on GPS/NAV (beyond base Google maps.)
  • 3 row rear facing child seats (?)
The initial 1000 signature models will probably come with most of those options standard, although I think Sport model upgrade is probably optional even on the Signature. Word is that the panoramic moonroof and rear-facing seats may be optional as well.

The above list is just a start. The online design studio has a section called "Options" that isn't live yet. I think they said they expect customers to lock in options 3 months before delivery date, so they still have some time to plan out the exact options list.

I don't think they have mentioned any pricing for options other than $10K for the 230 mile pack (over the base 160) and $20K for the 300 (also over the 160).

I think that is more likely to be a Tom Tom or Garmin App than a Tesla option.
Traditonally cars with NAV options need extra stuff (like vehicle speed sensors, gyros, and such), but maybe Model S already has all the inputs it needs to have Nav work when 3G/4G and GPS is unavailable. ("Dead reckoning" mode when going through tunnels, etc.) Someone at the factory tour told me that enhanced nav would be an option, but I gathered it could be more than just an app.

Oh yeah, I meant to add that and forgot. I just put it on the list now. Thanks.

aren't the rear facing seats optional?
I believe they are standard. It wasn't something they talked about as being an option at least. We really won't know much until they release the options list in the winter though.

If optional, price would creep up, and elon won't deliver on the electric sedan that seats 7 starting at 57k

I'd be happy for all of those to be options, except the adjustable air suspension. If it's required to get the full range (adjust down) and to drive on unpaved roads, then it needs to be part of the base price. I'd be okay with a manual override being an at-cost option.

I was told the Signature would be roughly $90k.
It's looking more and more like I won't be getting a Sig. It was $80k at one point, "fully loaded". I wonder where I end up in the sequence if I end up dropping out of Sig back to general production? I was P2840.
