I either love the car and continue to lavish it with "presents" or the car is seriously under-equipped. Actually, I think it's both. To date I've bought:

  • Premium Front Console: $600
  • Premium Rear Console: $600
  • Spectra PhotoSync (all windows) $650
  • Lloyds Luxe Mats $340
  • Rola 59001 Trunk Organizer $52
  • ProClip phone holder and mount $110
  • LED License Plate Bulbs $22

That's not including $3,800 worth of 21" wheels and tires and my deposit for the (still not done) ludicrous update.

Do I need to admit I have a problem and perhaps join a support group?

Or are all of us continuing to spend money on our very expensive cars because we think our cars deserve it?

umm....throw me into that support group as well....over $5K worth of upgrades and accesories now....and no, still not done yet....I feel exactly like you, either I love the dang car too much and/or it's really under-equipped.

Nokian Hakkapellita winter tires on Rial Lugano 19" rims with Tesla TPMS sensors: about $1800
2 strips of velcro to secure my tire compressor and shovel (that I had from my previous car) in the frunk: about $1
Home made adapter to allow me to charge at 240v from 2 x 110v outlets: about $35

That's it so far...

I don't even have my X (or S) yet. In order to make room for my future vehicle, I spent over $25,000 adding 500 sq. feet (another bay and a half) to my existing garage. I also had the other two bay doors widened and replaced all openers with LiftMaster 8500 openers.
I then spent $1800 upgrading the garage to 100 amp service and adding two 14-50 outlets.

I also spent $45 on the 5-20 UMC adaptor.

Now I just need the car...

Let's see...
$2,500 for the Rial Lugano and the Xi3 tires.
$200 for the Weather Tech mats
$500 on cocomats
$350 on the car cover
$600 on a spoiler
$600 to have my OEM rims powder coated

I don't want to even begin to add up the cost for all the detailing products and polishers...

That's about it.

Front Center Console
HPWC
Chademo Charger
Front X-pel ultimate wrap
Rear bumper area X-pel ultimate wrap - Not really optional due to the design of the rear loading. It was an unexpected cost.
Tire Repair kit thing

Things I'd buy within the next few months if I didn't blacklist the Tesla Store for being incompetent a-holes.
WeatherTec floor mats
Snow Chains.

There are other places to buy those things so those two are on my expected list plus a long extension cable .

Do you have any more information on your adapter? I don't think I've heard of anyone do this before.

wow, you win!!

My list so far:
all weather mats
sun shade for rear window (to help keep the kids from roasting)
two battery powered fans (to reduce chance of heat stroke not covered
by the sun shade)
snow cables
new outlet in the garage
lands end tote bag that is used as center console

I'd like a tire inflator/jump start combo thing. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
