Model S Plaid chrome delete discussion

Got my plaid yesterday. Wanted to start a discussion about what everyone is doing for the emblem chrome delete and the “Plaid”’badge chrome delete. Was going to potentially wrap them all in gloss black versus a plaid wrap. I’ve seen some talk of carbon fiber wrap. Any thoughts?

Most folks have said that painting the rear badge and lettering piano black is superior to wrapping or dipping. I’m doing that, along with a smoke chrome look for the front emblem.

As long as you don’t mind seeing the chrome underneath over time. Even black vinyl wrap on my other Model S has small tears around there.

Paint and clear it. It comes off with two screws. Very simple and will hold up better.

Anyone remove the front emblem? It doesn’t slide off after removing the 2 top screws. Seems to have another secure point in the center.

There is one you have to access from the rear of the emblem where you remove the front most top engine cover to access it. Not sure if words gets it across, but you can from the backside of the "T"

I got my rear T emblem wrapped with STEK Dynoblack when I went in for my full wrap.

The front emblem has 3 screws 2 on top and 1 behind the T. The back T is held on by double sided tape. Sand them down with 320 grit sand paper wipe down with alcohol and spray a light coat let dry and then do a regular coat. Do about 3 coats. As for the back T buy some double sided tape from Walmart and apply to the back of the T and stick back on. Use tape to mark where the T position was.
