would like to see shots with the Model 3, Model S and the Porsche TayCan$.

Must suck to be a Porsche nut and realize a ten year old company Is still superior to your brand and that brand has been making cars since Hitler became the leader of the Nazi Party

Hitler’s comment after he saw the new Porsche TayCan$:

    The Taycan vs the S:
    https://www.carscoops.com/2019/09/porsche-taycan-vs-tesla-model-s-which-is-the-ultimate-electric-sports-sedan/

    The Model 3 specs:
2019 Tesla Model 3 | Features and Specs | Car and Driver

The Model 3 has a wheelbase of 113.2 inches, the Taycan is 114 inches. Though the length and width of the Taycan are closer to the S. The cargo space in the Taycan is closer to the Model 3.

In automotive design features, Porsche has a lot more experience and I expect it will show. The manufacturing quality will probably be superior to Tesla. In some performance features the Taycan will probably beat the Model S P, but in other performance metrics as well as overall usefulness I suspect the Model S will win hands down. The Model S is an excellent daily driver with the capacity to haul the whole family and do a Costco run. Between the better range and currently superior charging network, it's also the go to choice for a road trip.

The Model S P fully loaded is also half the price of a modestly equipped Taycan.

The first couple of Hitler / Nazi references were funny, but the humour has worn off, team. Give it a rest.

You missed the most important one, the P100D+ badge:

Please everyone outline your base-less but exciting theories as to the meaning of "+".
I'll start: suspension mods to thicken roll bars / decrease compliance; wider tyres (obvious); battery temp limit raised in "race mode".
    Any other ideas?

More likely Tesla engineers readied the car for the ring with the improvements they thought would be simple/necessary to improve performance (wider tires, more cooling via the cutout, etc)....put a + badge on it to be cute, and called it a day. This ain’t a redesign this is a hack job to give it the best shot it can get in a short period of time to go have some fun.

Do the fender flares suggest a hack job?

Interesting thought. For me, if you can buy it from Tesla (or just add wheels / tyres), then it's "stock" and an exciting development.
If you are right, I'll be disappointed.

Didn't they use the + in the past for a P85+ where the + meant it had different suspension and staggered tires?

But it appears to have much larger brakes as well:

    Exactly.

Yes, in fact, that’s right. They are 3m taped in fender flares fabricated over a few hours, painted and applied. They serve the purpose of supporting running wider tires without looking ridiculous. It’s one of multiple direct tells that this isn’t a redesign, it’s a grouping of modifications like this (lighter wheels, bigger brakes, etc) that are simple bolt ons that will help performance. Will a redesign have arches, or a bigger cutout, wider tires, etc...um maybe, but this is not some kind of early view, it’s common sense simple modifications that may or may not convey. Obvious.

Not a redesign, a hack job, and one it’s great to see them do.

Tesla is calling it their plaid powertrain. The motor whine suggests something has changed.

They may be testing some elements of the Roadster power train. I doubt this is any kind of production prototype.

Larger fender flares with larger wheels that sit flush would be nice.
Bigger brakes would also be a welcome addition.
A + suspension from the old days is not really necessary with the newest suspension.

Sounds about right (esp on Elon time) given the above, well off in the distance. 3 motors! Sweet.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
-ooh, Porsche is about to release their new EV
-lets make a faster model-s in 3 weeks (the Taycan release date has been known for a while)
-lets not announce any real technical details
-hint it might be available in the long term
    -Done

    What should have be done
-once Taycan was announced begin planning a model-S update to be announced 1 week after Taycan reveal
-announce the new model-S interior with a price cut of $5000 and a slight performance improvement
-possibly could have held the Raven hardware upgrades until announcement.

The amount of conviction in this forum and the amount of complete error amazes me.
