another day without an announcement. either something is coming or not. I finally want to order my model s :( haven't had a car since november 2020 :(
Why don’t you order it now to protect yourself from price increase. It’s only $100 and that’s the most you lose if outcome is disappointing. I ordered one last week.

I remember reading a quote like this 3-4 years ago. Not sure if that person got their car or not. I will have returned two leases by the time the imminent refresh happens.

This why I love leasing, but know it doesn’t work for high mileage drivers and others. I lease the latest & greatest Tesla in my budget and enjoy its capabilities while Tesla develops the next better model. I get many, but not all improvements via OTA free updates. 36 to 42 months later (3 years + 6 mo extension), turn the old model in and get new model with more advanced features. While I must wait a year or two for a desired feature introduced after taking delivery, I have the pleasure of driving an outstanding vehicle all the time. I did this in 2017 and last week ordered a 2021.

I just hate having a payment. I’d rather buy a <1 year old car and save a bunch of money, then drive it as long as I want and (depending on how long I kept it) get a big percentage of my money back when I sell.

Not having any vehicles coming out of the plant by now increases the probability that this is actually a refresh.

A simple line maintenance would not have involved 2 weeks off, and then several days of little or no production with a full staff on hand.

A maintenance pause would have ramped production up quickly to satisfy the unmet demand for the last 3 weeks.
