Model S Sales Events

A friend of mine got invited to a local jet charter company's co-sales event with Tesla in San Diego. He arrived and said there must have been 20 P85Ds there for test drives. The place was so packed, that he could barely get his questions answered. But he did get to drive it and was, of course, blown away. Tesla followed up with sales calls after the event, and my friend is now (finally!) seriously considering buying the P85D.

Maybe I've been living in a cave, but this kind of aggressive sales event with actual follow up phone calls seems to be a relatively new thing for Tesla? Has anyone else seen this recently or not so recently in your area?

Not new. Before the Model-S came out there were several of these events in our area. They would give test drives in Roadsters. Can't remember if they followed up with phone calls but definitely did follow up with emails.

Went to my first test drive event a bit over 5 years ago
The scale is larger than events I have been to or heard about. The most cars I have seen at one of these events is three or four plus a couple owner vehicles (not there for test drives).

Very fun events though and a great way of spreading the word!
