One change they made to website is that now when you design a configuration, they give you the price after the fed tax credit. So sig Perf maxes out at something like $102k instead of $109k.

Not a big deal but, I liked it the way it was before. It's better to see what you'd be dealing with at the point of sale (to figure out sales tax, financing etc.) - the fine print was good enough to let people know of the incentives. Trying not to scare (some) people away?!

I agree 100%. Having it this way is stupid and was (now is again) my pet peeve about the website. Flaunt the possibility of a tax credit all you want (because you're not guaranteed to get it - and we've had that discussion at length before), but show the price you expect when handing over the car. Listing the price post-credit is bordering on disingenuous.

Maybe after the Fremont test drive, a lot of people wanted to upgrade to the performance (who wouldn't) and the extra $10k+ listed before the fed credit was more than they were willing to shell out. It's an easier sell to themselves and their significant other listed this way. Heck, I am trying to talk myself into the performance; hey wait a minute, it's only 3 grand more than my old configuration. Hum, maybe?

Say what now? The difference is still $10k+. The tax credit applies to both cars. I'm not sure you how you thought that one through?

Exactly, I do write a bit tongue and cheek. And perhaps you are as well in your response. However, in case you're not: We all deceive ourselves, the degree we do it is proportional to how badly we want the object of our desire. Tesla is providing a means for those that are on the fence about spending the extra cash a "justification". Hey, if we as a group are collectively bright enough to buy an EV, safe to say we got the finances figured out as well.

Don't kid yourself, the performance is only $55K
(+ 7 yrs of fun-time payments) I think a 1/2 to 1 hr test drive on some windy roads is worth $100 easily (pro rated based on income to get some break for the struggling around here who would never have a chance to drive a > $30k car even) - that should take care of the monthly

 Fair enough, you got me. And I count myself as the master of sarcasm. Too early in the morning I guess...

I was having that issue earlier on random pages, so I guess they're working on a few things.

I think that you're right. At the event this weekend I was told, more than once, that folks should have been able to configure and finalize their orders online by now. My dad tells me that it hasn't gone live yet but I imagine that they're working on it.

sounds good, now I know that I like all of the colors and perf wheels are potentially pretty nice any way you go (depending on what kind of look you want)
I was planning on getting aero wheels but the 21"ride was so smooth ( I know the tires will not last to my hill driving but ....)
maybe I will get some 20"s later and sell the 21"s to someone who wants the perf wheels later

The only thing I didn't do was try and fold the seat down and lay in the back but the online config won't help me there anyway.

Could be why Inside Tesla - 06.26.12 was pushed back 4 hours. Maybe they plan to announce the updates at that time.

RIP Aero Wheels... That option has been removed from the design studio as of this date; those on this forum talked about it happening and so it has come to pass.:frown:

GB said supplier issues. They will be back at some unnamed date in the future.
