Model S subsite and design studio being updated

Hope they have both Gloss and Matte Obeche wood at the Seattle Get Amped Drive event this weekend. I can barely tell the difference on the web site.

From what I heard (from someone here I believe), only Elon's car has it?

I woul'd love matte black. I mean really, really matte (think anything sticks to it matte). Saw a Porsche Cayenne with that finish the other day and I would get it if it was possible (even though I'd have to wash my car every 5 days). Anyone have experience with matte finish. Expensive to get after-market?

Johan,

check the pictures in this Roadster thread. The vinyl wrap has the big advantage that you or the person to which you might sell the car, can undo it and have the original color like new.

The roadster pictured in the link above gets here next weekend. I'll let you know how it looks close up. It is not very expensive to do (compared to paint) - I believe under $1000 installed.

If you ever swing by San Jose, come look!

don't see much different on the site, few less options in paint it seems, some cosmetic changes to the interface.. but it does load much faster. perhaps they moved host servers... fwiw.

The Roadster has a similar page that was accessible via menu item "Innovations".
The URL used to be The Electric Tesla Roadster | Tesla Motors but now the menu directs me to Tesla Roadster Technology and Innovations | Tesla Motors

BTW there is a corresponding page Model S Innovations - Alpha Phase | Tesla Motors.

We do a lot of URL hacking here.

GB mentioned in a blog that 50 cars now have logged >39k miles. We could start to fantasize when Model S miles will exceed Roadsters'.
