I’m ready to take the $2k FSD upgrade plunge, but especially with all of the evolving changes and lots of opinions - have we seen anything in writing from Tesla that the $2k FSD upgrade does include the new hardware (ie from AP 2.5 to AP 3.0)? I just want to be 100% certain before pulling the trigger. Thanks in advance for your insight.

When buying, it's best to pay for a feature and NOT hardware.
You ask for HardWare3 and it is the future but what if you got it and it will be still not good enough for FSD? What if it will require 3.5?

You cannot be 100% certain of anything with Tesla.
Unless the feature exists in the real world at the time of purchase, you are guaranteed nothing.

Yeah, it all depends on if you trust what Elon tweets. He’s right (though usually late) more often than not, but there are also a fair number of examples of Tesla not delivering a promised item or feature. All we know for sure is you won’t get HW3 if you don’t buy FSD.
Thanks for showing me Elon confirmed it via his Tweet. However, he also confirmed that MCU1 can upgrade by MCU2 via tweet almost a year ago and per my conversation with the dealership today, there is still no upgrade path.

there is, they are just misinformed/don't want to do it for you. Also it's not for everybody yet. But a day will come and it will become an option. A paid option.

The thread doesn't exist, it has only been down 1x that I'm aware of and not by Tesla. There's a Elon said we can get retrofits thread, but like a lot things, nobody has gotten a retrofit yet from Tesla.
Does anyone know if the upgrade is for AP 2.5 only or AP 2.0 can also get the hardware upgrade? I am so confused now...
