Model X and V3 Supercharger

All Model X vehicles will be able to "use" the V3 superchargers. But, not all will get any charging speed boost. The charging speed (kW) is determined by the car and only newer battery packs (like the 100kWh packs) will get the higher speed charging. 90D and P90D will probably never see any significant increase in charging speed due to cooling limitations.

Too add to this, no currently shipping S or X can take full advantage of V3. The top charging speeds of V3 is only for 2170 based cars like Model 3 and Model Y (and presumably Roadster 2020, but we don't have hard data on that at this point).

If this is really true, then the new Model S and X vehicles need to be upgraded to use the 2170 batteries.

New cars now have the option code ch9, it's thicker cables and ccs support. I am eager to see how my car will perform vs my old 85d

I think that's the 500e retrofit. I will go have it done when it actually becomes available and after there is even one 50kW+ ccs charger on any of the routes I drive..

I think it's worthwhile if there are no superchargers nearby. Tesla bjørn recently made a video confirming 131kw peak power. But it tapers fairly quick. But it's still a little bit faster than the v2 supercharger.

BT37 is a long range Model 3, not the old Model S & X 75.

Read the link posted. It had nothing about the v3, it only points out that the ’btx5’ 75 pack benefits considerably from the update. It starts to charge just about as fast as the 100 (lower peak power, but due to better cooling less taper). If you are going really far the range does not matter much, the charging power defines the arrival time.

After the update, the 75 is still five minutes behind the 100's old charging curve. It's closer, but the 100 is still significantly faster at adding 40 kWh of energy.
