Model X Build Quality

The build quality is not as good as Audi or BMW vehicles I have had, but the only issues have been minor, and Tesla Service addressed them. Tesla is on the bleeding edge, and sometimes the car's software is a little quirky, however to me it's WELL worth it. You get regular software updates that improve all the time, whereas with other cars if you don't like something you're stuck with it until you buy a new car. I love my Model X and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have seen some posts on Facebook groups where they uploaded some photos regarding build quality. Though mainly cosmetic issues as reported in US forums as well. Hope no major items. I will try to find and post pictures here.

I got my X yesterday. The build quality is disappointing but expected after reading the USA forums. It is still a mighty car which I already love. Paint and leather are good. Panel gaps and trim fittings are very ordinary. Mine developed a loud vibrating aircon on day 2.
It is awesome to drive, and the interface is great, but the maps seem daggy, with regular guidance mistakes....

bad workmanship, and very slow after sales follow-up at Tesla (HK).

i remember there is a BMW or AUDI executive called Model X "a concept car" during a car show last year. i think i can agree now, after owning it a few days.

it's fun and exciting to drive X, really feel like a "concept car", it's futuristic, it lets you enjoy tomorrow's tech today, but the compromises are that it's quite expensive and problematic.

Mine is a bit better but not perfect as expected. Minor exterior and and interiors misalignments are given. In addition, the passenger side footwell light is not working, it appears that it is "wireless" when I try to peep into the inside from the interior misalignment gaps. The brake has a noise when the car almost comes to a complete stop. One of the last roll sit belt is twisted and cannot rewind the sit belt on its own.

Yesterday I got an update and now some of the AP2.0 functions like TACC can be used. Still need more time to try it out.

How much time do Tesla resolve your issue??

Picked mine up last night... couldn't find too many faults... the falcon wing door rub trim on one door isn't perfect... half of it is 'in' whereas the remainder is 'out'... the other door is fine. Only other thing is that the tailgate won't register/remember the height change I try and program.

I don't think I got traffic aware cruise control yet... would like that...

Overall car is awesome. The falcon wing doors take some getting used to... but are super impressive

The Service is disappointed. I booked the Friday morning section as I expect the minor issues like footwell lights and some popping out door seals can be fixed in a day. However, I was told the car need to stay till next Tuesday and there is no guarantee that I can get back the car on time. I just find out there are no technicans on Sat and I regret to sit my car in the service centre over the weekend for no reason.

Btw, I also complain about the noise from the brake when it approaches to a complete stop. The service specialist said it was a "given" feature, especially with 21" rims or over. Kind of BS.... Model X is eye catching on the road but it is really embarrassing to stop with the weird brake noise.

I picked up my X on Saturday (18 Feb) and I have 2 major faults. The falcon wing door catches the C pillar. When there are people sitting at the back (don't know why this affects the door), the door doesn't even close. The second problem is the air conditioning is not working.

My car is going back next Thursday (2 March).

Another point that's not a fault but my car had a long scratch when I took delivery. This is also being addressed by Tesla on 2 March though.

It took me three business days to change the key fob, fix the seat belts, rubber trim on Falcon wings and footwell lights. Hope you can get yours fixed soon.

My air con also doesn't work at all... other small complaints are that I have some rubber on one of the falcon wing doors at the top that isn't in properly, and when I try and change the height of my trunk when open, the system doesn't remember my new height preference and opens super low again. Air Con wise it originally made a hissing noise and now it just blows warm air... I half suspect that there's no coolant in the system... I'm due in on march 8... will see what they say for the fix and how long it takes

Although I drive a MS, but I've similar problem with brake pad noise. I've the 21' rims set up. I think the brake is by Brembo and the noise is due to the brake pad not reaching its optimal working temperature. The screechy noise goes away once I drove the car for a few minutes and brake pad warmed up.
