I was told at delivery this past Friday and confirmed today that the mobile connector's ability to open the charge port door is not not yet implemented on the model X. At least the door will close on its own.
That certainly holds true in my case. I can open it from the touch screen I think, haven't tried that yet, also from the app - did try that, and by pushing on the door itself. Not sure that is the greatest idea, but it's what the delivery specialist did.
So, has anyone heard anything about when the mobile connector's ability to open that little door will be implemented? Seems like that is the most convenient way to get the job done.

Just got another over-the-air update last weekend and surprise - the charge port door opens automatically now!

Mine, too - I guess we were wrong about the hardware not being there. Pushing the button on the HPWC now opens the charge port door.

I don't understand what took so long, though... ??

push to open is OK.

but with the button not working for model X, which is the easiest way to "disconnect" at the end?
The charge port door opens using the button on the charger handle now. This was added a few updates ago. To disconnect the charger, the easiest way is to unlock the car first (double click of the fob) then hold charger button down wait till light ring is white then pull cable out.

Most (almost all) of the time, my charge port door will NOT open when I push the button on the UMC. It works every once in a while. Is everyone else seeing this work consistently?

I have to point the charger towards the upper right corner of the tail light, it works pretty consistently when you find the sweet spot.

Who would have thought that a gas flap would be so complicated? Maybe they should just give it the little finger pull slot and be done with it.

Too bad there isn't geofencing capability to determine that the vehicle is in your garage and allows ability to pull out charger without opening doors.

On my 75D, Aug build, the UMC button has always opened the charge door, as long as the car is unlocked. Also, pushing the button with the car unlocked allows cable disconnect. My charge port door then always closes on its own after about a 5 sec delay.

Yep--my comment tied to when doors are locked....often when I enter my garage from home I may have a hand with stuff and want to use other to take out cable before entering. Or I just want to take cable out and don't have key or phone with me.....

I wish Tesla would let us change the suspension level with the car still plugged in. There have been numerous times I wanted to raise or lower the suspension so that I can do some work on the car, but had to first get out, unplug the car, get back in the car, change the suspension, then get out of the car, plug it back in, then finally perform the task I wanted. Ugh.
