Model X Delivery Update

I got a call from my Delivery Specialist this morning. He got information this morning that my car (VIN 415) should enter production in "a week to a week and a half" and that he wants me to keep the week after Christmas lightly scheduled because he thinks that's when it'll come. He thinks that the latest it will come and it might be ready earlier.

None of this was said in terms of absolute guarantee type of language but I'm heartened to get some communication and hopeful that it means the last of the supply line wrinkles are worked out and they're beginning to build cars.

Great to hear about some production progres!
A personal question, what feels more difficult, waiting for
- the early years
- months
- weeks
- days
- couple of last hours
- ...
... as delivery nears;)

Please keep us updated on any news about production and delivery of your Model X.
Maybe you could call your DS from time to time to politely ask if there are any news?
Would be amazing!

Hope for a delivery for you as soon as possible, hey a big christmas present would be great, eh?!

Yeah, for the Model S, the hardest part was when I knew the car was in production to when I got it. Interestingly, that was also the shortest of the wait periods.

i think there are some other founders deliveries since then.

Is there some kind of gag agreement where the founders who have taken delivery aren't allowed to talk about Model X? I've seen 1 video (person had a white MX and was driving it around with the plastic seat packaging still on), and 1 set of photos/video (guy took delivery of blue MX, had picture with his kid and dog), but no info on what the car is like to drive, or how it's been working out in daily usage.

I assume that Model X drives much like a Model S, but I'm curious as to the slight differences in driving dynamics due to different mass/height. Wh/mile figures, cargo use, seat comfort... all things I am curious about. It's odd that nearly 2 months after initial delivery, there is close to zero specific information on any of this.

Maybe they're too busy being CEO's and university professors and stuff to bother typing up a review or making a video. ;-)

Many people are busy, true, but that applies to much of the TMC forum community as well. There are plenty of business owners and professionals on the forum, many of whom wrote about their experiences with Tesla products, sometimes in great detail.

Thanks Tim, also - can someone keep a Model X reservation on the books indefinitely or is there a requirement to confirm? We know Model S orders now auto-confirm in 7 days.
Tesla will gladly hold onto your deposit until you either place an order or request a refund. You may get sent to the back of the line though if you don't confirm within a certain amount of time.
