Just picked up our production MX P90D from the Seattle dealership. First time I have seen the car in person. I've watched every online video but none do this car justice. It's awesome!! Worth the 37 month wait

Congrats to those picking up! Mine is enroute from California, somewhere in New Mexico or Texas, I assume since it left a day or so ago, so it's still a few days away! Either way it's great to see and I look forward to sharing more info once I find out.

MyTesla now reports, for both our fully loaded P90DLs, "Your Tesla has entered the factory production queue. The delivery process guide will provide additional information about what to expect along the way. If you have questions, please contact your delivery specialist."

We're still planning on late March delivery/handover here in Seattle!

From your Signature line I think you are reading too much into the "entered the production queue" line. That's just the new text that shows for anyone that confirmed an order. people with 70D and 90D have seen that line as well.

Fundamentally, assignment of a VIN indicates they've started sourcing parts, if things go "normally" you'll be on the production line 5 weeks after that (at least for Model S) and then an indeterminate time for it to get through the line and post-production refits, etc. and then QC, finally delivery prep, etc.

I confirmed about a month before you and here we are in late feb and I haven't yet had a delivery scheduled, so your late march might be slightly optimistic. (Though I hope not, for your sake!)

Yeah, just catching up to the other threads. Too many 'production' themed threads going on. I tied the web site change to what my DS said last week was that the vehicle was about to enter production. Time to bug her again :)

For what it's worth, mine showed 'your model x order is confirmed' until the day it was delivered.

I think mine used to say "your model x order is confirmed", and then I got a VIN and now it just says "Ordered". So is "Your Tesla has entered the factory production queue" better or worse than "ordered"?

So does mine, but I ordered a non-P model. X90D with 20" wheels, 7 seats, premium package. Stock sound.

If my car is delivered late 2016, will it be given model year 2017?
I think model year is quite important for resale value.
Tesla debuted the Model X as a 2016 model because there were so few built in 2015. For 2017, I would not expect the VIN to change until the calendar year. Many people choose to delay delivery near the end of the year in order to get the next year's model. Tesla did make an effort to pull some of them ahead by building some 2016 Model S in December of last year, but generally speaking they go off year of manufacture for the model year.

If they go off by year of manufacture and they deliver mine around nov-dec, I will have a past model year car in about 30 days.

and who knows if there are QC issues, they might even push delivery of my 2016 MX in early 2017.

Model year is largely irrelevant for Tesla, since there are no significant changes from one year to the next. There will be some changes to autopilot hardware at some point, but Tesla model years are year of manufacture. If you purchase another brand in April, it will be may be the previous model year in as little as one month. For Tesla the year begins in January, which makes a lot more sense. For other brands it is nothing more than a marketing tactic, and the and the changes between model years are often not just minor.
