But then they could always sell those as inventory cars
They could be pre-production cars (please don't start a terminology discussion again). These could be cars they can't officially sell like they did with the early Model S display cars.This would cause customer delays. This is of course assuming they built that many cars but 100 is not a huge number to get the production line up to final specs.
