Love the pictures! I'm super curious about the dual camera hardware. Can those who have received their model x take pictures of the autopilot camera area to see if it matches the model x page that shows two cameras?

And look at the picture that says falcon wings, you'll see two triangles. I am checking if the ones delivered look like that. Congrats to those who got their Mxs!

I'm going to try and be brief in describing my delivery experience yesterday and my initial thoughts, and plan to summarize my first impressions more completely a week or so after I've driving it a bit.

As seen in my signature, I ordered in Mid May, so picked up the car less than 2 months after placing the order. Given all the angst (and the longer waits experienced by many of you) this was a pleasant surprise relative to my expectations. In fact, I actually had to push the delivery a bit due to an international trip that was planned well in advance.

I took delivery at the Dania Beach SC, and my DS and the orientation specialist were great through the entire process. I felt respected and part of a real family. Night and day in terms of persona experience relative to prior deliveries of nice cars. The orientation to the vehicle lasted more than an hour, and was extraordinarily helpful. When I took delivery of my last car (535i M-sport) the salesperson did the orientation and knew a fraction of what I did about the car (and next to nothing about features that were new then, like the updated HUD, lane change and collision warnings, etc.). So the Tesla delivery experience was hands down better, with a great deal of new and detailed information presented. They also directed tips and pointers at my wife and kids when appropriate, to ensure everyone felt educated and included.

Cosmetically the car looked generally great. I hadn't seen the Blue beforehand, and although it's a little brighter and more conspicuous than I would have preferred (my last car was a much darker metallic blue) it's beautiful and striking. The left FWD was aligned a bit high, and I listed this on the delivery "due" list. Since coming home, I have noticed some odd front door opening behavior (occasionally doors open partially when manually opened--I have auto present OFF--even when there are no objects that should limit travel. I'm going to watch this and report it when I bring it in to get the left FWD alignment fix.

My brief driving experience has been fantastic. The car has much more power than my 535i, and although I never contemplated the P90D, I personally have more power than I need, especially with the immediately available low-end torque.

Some initial raves: I love the panoramic windshield, as have my family passengers. It really alters the driving experience. In general, I love the large main display, as well as the quality of the digital instrument panel and the steering wheel controls. Voice recognition is also vastly superior to that in my 2013 BMW, which was only marginally usable. While I'll reassess this with more time in the car, I do miss my visual blind spot monitors in my side mirrors, as well as the HUD from my current car. However, brief time with the distance-aware cruise control was very positive. I tried autopilot but in a more limited fashion--the stop and go cruise control (especially in traffic) will likely be more important for me.

Again, I'll post a much more detailed review (and comparison with my BMW ICE) in a week or two. Thanks to all for the valuable information on this forum. I learned a lot and financed with Alliant as a result, and feel very prepared and supported by your info.

it's difficult to understand that some people waited 2 years and still haven't gotten their X, while others ordered only 2 months ago and received them already?
I totally agree with you.

For me, being Canadian had it's drawbacks and was frustrating seeing Americans order one month and talk about production and take delivery a mere few weeks to a month later. I know the feeling. However, when you do get it, it's just :p:Do_O:)

Congrats ksquared and beautiful pics!

My DS just got back today from his vacation, and even though the status hasn't changed on MyTesla (still says "ordered"), he informed me that my X should arrive at the SC today!! Hoping to pick it up by the end of the week!! I wasn't expecting it until the last week of July!

Congrats!! That's great news! Were you even informed by your DS before it went into production? If you recall, back in June we both exchanged a couple of messages here about receiving our VINs. I got mine about 2 weeks after you received yours, which makes me wonder if I will get my X in the next 2-3 weeks, consistent with the estimated July delivery timeframe the Design Center had when I ordered. I have not heard a peep from my DS in the last 3 weeks, and 3 weeks ago he just said that I'm scheduled for late July production.

I do remember exchanging messages about our VINs. On June 15th, my DS had told me that my car was scheduled to begin production in "early June". I hadn't heard anything from him since, and no status change on MyTesla. I sent an e-mail to him last week, but discovered he was out for the week, and then received the e-mail today stating that it was done! Since your VIN is ~1000 more than mine, I would guess that your car should hit production either this week or next, but that is just a guess and Tesla can be all over the place. I think one of the biggest uncertainties for you might be the travel time, since your car has to travel quite a ways and transport speeds seem to vary quite a bit. I'm only a few hours from the factory, so the transport time was almost negligible. That being said, a delivery by the end of July doesn't seem impossible!

Why don't you call your DS? I called my DS every wednesday and left a voicemail for probably 2 1/2 months. He would either call me back within a few hours or Email me back late at night. But, he knew I'd be calling. He kept me well informed of what was going as soon as he found out on his end.
