I take it that it won't count as carry on luggage.I believe the cost is somewhere between a fool and his money.

Received a call from my DS today, production of my car has been pushed from 13-Feb to 6-Mar due to the factory shutdown Tesla confirms retooling of factory for Model 3 this month, will ‘pause’ Model S/X production for a week
He indicated that Sydney deliveries take between approx 6-8 weeks from the start of production.
I'm now looking at an estimated ETA of Late April/May
That's awesome man, I've been told they aren't expecting the ship to dock until the 27th of March in Sydney ?@championi - there's a turn for the books - I just received an indicative delivery date of 26th March (Melbourne). Must be last in / first out of the container
We used our own electrician. He has done some batteries, so it wasn't entirely a new concept. He is excellent and after I sent him the manual (it is on the website) he was very comfortable with installing it. We have 5kw of solar on our roof that all gets exported (we are on a legacy tarrif in Vic till 2024 so must export the lot, but get a very good price still). So, this has meant we have needed to upgrade to 3 phase as the old line couldn't cope with more load above a 10amp (means 10k an hour charging, which is fine for weekday but not good on weekends when we often do longish trips on both days), whereas the 3 phase is much faster. Means we will charge faster too, but the distribution company can take a month or longer depending on where you live. We allowed a few weeks, but should have allowed a couple of months. When was your original expected delivery?
My timeline so far:
I ordered on 9th Feb 2017
Confirmed 16th Feb
I noticed this morning (21st Feb) that a VIN has been assigned.
????
Expected delivery late May.
Interested in the ???? part of the timeline.
At some point I expect to receive the wall connector. The DS gave me the name of a recommended installer but said I can use my own electrician.
Do you guys recommend using the guy who does this (install these connectors) for a living or use my own electrician who knows my house like the back of his hand but has never installed one of these?
How did you find the communication from the Tesla DS? It's early days but down the track I don't want to pester the poor guy but if I don't get updates every now and again I'm not sure I'll be able to control myself.
@championi - that wait from Intransit to confirmed leaving dock seems like it would be a killer. Car being ready to go but just sitting there waiting for a ride home.
Any other experiences/timelines welcomed.
I take it that it won't count as carry on luggage.
Tozla, to answer a few of your questions that are hanging-
You will get notified of things happening on my tesla before your DS tells you anything encouraging. Just be like the rest of us and check it daily.
I would call my DS at intervals of no more than two weeks, and he never had updates until production began, then he had inside info on progress which was good. Mine was actually in production for 3 weeks or more due to shortage of parts. Others only took a day or two.
Any decent sparky can fit the charger, it's not rocket science. I did use the recommended guy and he was great, and knew a lot about charging, so for that reason I would use the recommended guy.
The car is awesome, you will love it!
I've been told that by the DS that my car will go into production in early August. I do check the My Telsa webpage often despite there being no change. Like many of you I can't help myself.
Do you get any notification or indication through My Tesla prior to production or do you only get notification once the car has actually gone into production?
Oops. I realised I write my vehicle goes into purification in early August. Meant early April. No way I could wait till August.
My Tesla is getting a lot of refreshment.
I live and work in that area too and I have noticed a lot of new X's around. In the past week I've seen 2 Metallic Blacks, 1 Midnight Silver, 1 Silver & 1 White.I'm seeing a lot of Model X around here now, probably at least 1 or 2 a day. They must have delivered a bunch of them recently. (Inner SE Melbourne, Armadale/Toorak/Kooyong/Malvern area.

It totally is. Taking over from the Range Rover variants, the X is now king. Driving from Armadale to Toorak yesterday, I saw two Xs and two Ss.The *NEW* Toorak Tractor

10-Feb-17: Production pushed 3 weeks from 13-Feb to 6-Mar due to the factory shutdown Tesla confirms retooling of factory for Model 3 this month, will ‘pause’ Model S/X production for a week
Ya - mine was built 28 to 31 December 2014.22-Mar-17: Production has been pushed back a further 4 weeks to the week of 3-Apr-17
I'm assuming it's to do with the end of quarter push to deliver US-based customers. Has anyone else experience this type of delay?
