Model X license plates

Mine took about 60 days and until the plates came you heard nothing nor was there a way to check on the status or even if they accepted your order except for the initial order page you had to print. Worked remarkedly like the Tesla delivery process.

When you get them ask them if they can hold them for you. I am pretty sure most DMV's can hold them onsite for 60 days or more if you explain why the delay. Do you have a VIN? That might help too.

I just put mine on a classic car that is wrapped up for the winter so it was no big deal for me to take them at the time of delivery.

I have a VIN - the CA DMV will hold it for 30 days, I think and beyond that I need to given them an explanation of why I need more time (which I guess I have). But I'm really hoping it won't be more than 30 days till I get my car.

Once your get your car, there will be a couple of weeks before you get your 9nitial plates. I think mine came between 3 and 4 weeks.

How long are you folks in California taking to get your personalized plates? I ordered mine back in early January and haven't received them yet with no updates

Our personalized plates took 14 weeks from the day we ordered on the DMV website. A friend who ordered her plates at the Auto Club also had about a 14 week wait.

Our original plates came within three weeks of taking delivery of our Model X.
