Perform this experiment (not sure if you have X): open passenger door just a hair and then try to ask the car to close it from the fob - was failing on my car and I was told this is as designed (the problem is the door does not build enough momentum to overcome the resistance of the rubber seals and eventually gave up trying to close).

I've noticed this too. You would think the system would be clever enough to just open the door a little more and then close it again, but it's not that clever! A little software tweak would fix that if anyone from the factory is reading.
