do you think the factory closing will delay deliveries into April?

I initially had selected mid march for my delivery

My guess is Tesla knew this was coming when it assigned delivery dates. But a 10 delay is minimal.

What I am seeing is actually less volume of inventory showing up - that means maybe they are really just making customer cars at this point and not the inventory blocks we've seen the last couple quarters. That may mean few will fall into April with custom orders. That's good to build customers' cars first over inventory blocks.

My Tesla changed to "in production" in the last 24 hours. How long does it take to build? What do folks usually see until the next step (which is what?) The real question is will it finish before the 10 day plant stoppage on Feb 18 or 20?

LOL. A common thing around here. You could try and ping your DS for an update. I got an email yesterday about mine about to go into production. Perhaps your're not too far behind. Finger crossed.

I also think its hilarious that 5 years after I made my initial reservation, when reservations opened on Feb 10, 2012, it goes into production! Spooky even. LOL

Actually March- early April and my DS says March 23 specifically. That's why I was so surprised.

So does anyone have an estimate of how long the build usually takes? I am wondering if I beat the Feb 18 shut down.

I have on occasion experienced the same, so just be patient. Sometimes I luck out and get a response.

Mine went into production last Friday and it's now built. Took a week. It's now on its long journey to Australia. Hopefully for a late March delivery. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it went into April.
