well i think it is interesting that all the debate about the mules being essentially production models is settled. they really did have distraction parts beyond just camo.
This. especially on white. It's amusing they tried hard to hide the nose and ended up with something that (IMO) is worse than the camo. What's all this about only X amount of people having seen a completed Model X? Was it the nose we were waiting to be wow'd by?
Well, I must admit that I really dont see anything new on the reveal... The only thing is the nose and the fact that the doors close and align with the rest of the body (that was no surprise). Where is the "significant" differences from the mules?
Why are you expecting "significant" differences? Mules are your Model X with camouflage... they are not exactly building a different car!
I'm positive there's a lot of stuff they skipped over during the reveal. More will be known once signature series get into owners hands soon and we get real reviews. Founders don't say much.
IMO, the nose cone looked better on the later Mules. I don't care for the look of the front of the production units. Sure.... I will get use to it, but it is a missed opportunity to leverage a consistent design language.
Well, did you read the previous 3500 (ish) posts? Have a look at 'Are the Model X mules close to the final version?' Some well known TMC-members voted for "Not close, I think they're decoys". To be honest: I was hoping for changes, but wasn't expecting much...
This little mule had stereo autopilot cameras... ... and this little Founders car only had one! Maybe this tread has some life in it yet...
That's okay. Kenny may drive a mule in the future if the folding seats are being tested. Hopefully the desire for 2nd row (and first row passenger) folding seats will never die.
My wife saw a blue Model X on Foothill near Page Mill Rd in Palo Alto today... She noted that it had "regular license plates", not dealer or otherwise special plates... Door looks pretty well aligned... handles not so much... - - - Updated - - - Actually the door isn't very well aligned either.
