Took delivery of my inventory X today. Went in expecting to at least find a few issues. The car ended up being absolutely perfect, looked like it came fresh out of the factory.
Also the Marina del rey delivery center was nearly empty. I had the only MX in the entire center, it was all Model 3s. The only thing was it took about an hour for the car to be ready. Staff were also very helpful/ friendly.

Interestingly, since it was so empty, all the staff were trying out a new Cybertruck VR program that had just been delivered to them from HQ. It showed some interesting never before seen features, like a massive frunk, interior storage, etc.

I wasn't so lucky mine had a couple dings and chips.Tesla already arranged for a local body shop to get it fixed on Teslas dime.
So far I'm pleased with their service.

    Congrats on your new X.
I went by there yesterday and walked around to see if my car was there, sitting in the corner cuz they were too busy to deal with. It wasn't, hardly any X's there.
Also was hoping to see the new fronts seats in person, but they didn't have any to show me.
Did you get the new seats, what's your opinion on them?

Hi yes I got the new seats. I’m 5’9” and they are extremely comfortable. My wife and I loved the old seats and were concerned. The first thing I did was ask my wife how she liked the new seats, and she said she didn’t notice any difference in the comfort. The headrest isn't adjustable, but the position seems good. They add a noticeable amount of legroom to the second row.

What is interesting about the legroom in the back is we went to the dealer yesterday in our 2017 Ford Explorer with an adult and teenager in the back and they both said the X has more room in the back. So that's a positive. My wife was concerned the X was too small.

Well today was delivery day! But due to a severe lack of response by my DA, they failed to send my insurance the purchase agreement in time. Best part, I have been pestering my DA for a week along with my insurance broker to forward those details to them so everything will be ready at delivery day.
Appointment was set for 4pm today. Had an email from my DA that he was working on the proof of insurance, and see us in a few hours. I thought ok cool!

Drove down to the Tesla location with my toddler and 6 month pregnant wife only to find out I can’t get the car because the purchase agreement was only sent to the dealership an hour before my appointment and they couldn’t get a hold of my insurance company...because office was closed for the day. Really!? You had a week to sort this out bro!

Thing for me is, if you have been asked to send the paperwork to my insurance for over a week, and knew without it we couldn’t pick up the car, why not email me, text, call, carrier pigeon some sort of message to me advising not to come in for delivery? So now, we are rescheduled for Monday...had to waste 3 hours today for nothing.

Beyond disappointed at this point. Love Tesla, love the vision the company has, but Tesla’s delivery process is hot garbage and unfortunately some of their DA’s are extremely p!$$ poor.

I hope I don't have any of these issues when I pick mine up any day now!?!?!?!
As bad as it is, I don't think it is a fair outlook on how Tesla is. This is a situation where everyone is trying to cash in on the fed tax incentive before the end of the year. So they are delivering over 50 - 60 cars per these past few weeks vs only 10 per day. They tried to be ready for it, but these issues are bound to occur in any company. I know my company would lose its great reputation if my volume more than quadrupled overnight.
Again, if it happened to me, I would be pissed also.

That’s what gets me with my situation. It could have been all avoided if the DA was more involved leading up delivery and paid attention to the details. I understand the increase push and volume, but at the end of the day there are certain things he could have controlled. I’m sure other DAs were stellar and made the delivery experience awesome for the nit clients. My DA didn’t greet us until we were there for 2 hours waiting. Either way, a preemptive email or text would have went a long way in avoiding my family and I wasting our afternoon.

Took delivery of my MXP on Friday...

So I actually saw an exact match to the car I ordered pop up in inventory - likely someone who canceled an order?? I was scheduled to pick up my ordered car on Friday AM, but saw this car pop up Thursday night so decided to pay the $100 to reserve just in case something happened with the original.

Fast forward to Friday AM, my detailer met me at the delivery center and we looked at the car I ordered together. The car had a few paint runs and also some dust under the paint in some areas...I ended up turning the car down. Waited 3 hours for them to bring the 2nd car I reserved the night before, and this one checked out much better. Tesla did not seem to care about any of the issues I found on the first car, and would not do anything to offset the poor delivery experience. I know they are delivering a lot of cars this month, but not sure how this car passed QA!!!

In the end, I have the car and it is incredible. The wait and delivery experience could have been better but so it goes. One interesting thing to note - the MXP cars with white interior have an all black dash. The lower dash is white in the config tool, but it sounds like they have been all black for many months. Tesla should update their website to reflect this. Both cars showed the all black dash and when I questioned them on this they came back saying this was by design.

Good luck to everyone taking delivery in the next several days!

Used the chat feature to try to get an update on my car. When I responded to Tesla’s "unavailability" email last week, I indicated my availability ended 12/23 (today). As of today, 12/23, Tesla tells me they’re still waiting for a VIN to be assigned to my build. Seriously? There are several inventory cars that match my build in the PNW and a few in AZ.

it will now not be possible for me to take delivery by 12/31.

This is going to be my exit post.

I order on 10/31 and took my MX LR Black on Black FSD, on 12/21 @ Marina Del Ray, CA. The staff on site was very friendly, directed me where to go and the signing of documentation was all don't within 15min of getting there.

I did find two issues with the car when inspecting it, I'll attach the pictures here.
    1) there was this small white smudge next to the Tesla logo in the front, they rectified this for me by applying some paint to it. I was apprehensive about this at the start, but when it dried, I couldn't notice any difference.

    2) i i noticed that the drivers side FWD was misaligned slightly, and they took it into the workshop to see if they could fix it. What ended up happening was that the door was actually aligned, and it was the chrome lining that was popping out a little. They way he kinda explained it to me was by looking at all the other places that will be affected when it is not aligned properly and they were all aligned, except the chrome piece. Solution would be to bring it in at a later date and they will pull out the chrome piece and realign it.

They told me that everything passed inspection and was up to spec. And I was pretty happy with everything else too. I would recommend going through the car thoroughly and even if you miss something, you have the first 100miles to report it

I hope everyone who get their order soon! It is definitely worth the wait! Happy holidays everyone! :)

Ok let’s redo this. Delivery day was today, and all went well. The delivery specialist was aware of our previous issues with our missed delivery. He noted any issues with the vehicle I saw which was an a pillar gap and a chip on the rear rim, which the specialist pointed out and offered to have the rim replaced.
It’s a great car, and worth the frustration and wait. Hope everyone gets theirs soon as well.

Attached are comparison pics of the a pillar gap.

Ordered 10/31 mxL just got my text today asking what time on the 31st I want delivery. Crazy how it’s coming down to the wire. Said vin number will be available on the 28th. Text also said that could come sooner. If it can be picked up sooner someone will call and let me know.

Got a text last night also. Ordered on 11/8. Said it was in transit, no VIN, and earliest date for del was for the 27th. So thats whats scheduled, we will see what happens. This will be our second model X, for my wife. I am on my second model S. Having been with the company since my first Model S in 2015, it is interesting to see how they have changed and evolved. In some ways good and some ways bad. Regardless, I can't imagine having a better daily driver for myself and my wife. I am a car guy and have almost. always had an exotic sports car, and also have a radically built out Ford Raptor (the anti-testa), that I take out for crazy off-roading adventures. So when considering if I should get another Tesla for my DD, I really shopped around to see what else is out there that could fit my needs. Nothing even comes close.

I had ordered 10/21 and it took 2 months to get a VIN in my Tesla account. It is there in source code for last one week. Delivery scheduled for 12/26 .. finally :)
No text no emails .. all this happened through a DS in Vegas. Wondering why my SA was not involved. It just shows delivery scheduled for 12/26 but no place.. weird!

Del is set for tomorrow at 10:30am. They called and said everything is ready and done on my end. But that the car is still in transit, it is north of LA and should be another 4 hours away. But their drivers del 24/7 and it should be here middle of the night and ready for del tomorrow as promised. Should be interesting.

After multiple email exchanges my delivery date was moved back to 26th. Took delivery in Dublin center as per schedule and really two months of waiting and frustration is gone :) They had volunteers to help with the delivery and the guy who helped me was a software developer and was clearly unaware of the process. However he tried his best to answer my questions. Didnt find any issue there but after reaching home observed that driver side window glass is not smooth and has scratches. Let see what service has to say tomorrow. Btw it came with latest version 10.2 all FSD visualizations and newer voice controls are there.
