I think it works out that including sales tax and personal property tax in Virginia you pay anywhere upwards of $15k for 5 years of use. Taxation at its finest.

Yep, give or take, definitely sucks, oh well you know going in. So much for getting rid of the personal property taxes on vehicles...

Virginia sucks as far as EVs are concerned. We have absolutely no incentives AT ALL to get better/cleaner/safer cars on the road. They made it so difficult to get Tesla stores and SCs. We aren't allowed to get any of the perks if we refer - but I do anyway because it's an amazing car. That's it's green is only a bonus!

In Arizona Tesla can't sell you a car but you can buy as many as you want.

you can register a Tesla for five years for around $150.00 total cost.
The registration includes a blue sky plate that allows 24/7 carpool lane use.

Car dealers want to block Tesla sales but the state wants the clean air. Makes things interesting.

Do you mean literally, a 5 year registration? What happens if you move to another state after paying your 5 yr fee?
