Hello, this is my first post. I ordered a Model X Long Range on March 1st. and a VIN was assigned on the 4th. does anyone know how long it takes for a Model X to finish the production process? The Delivery Experience Specialist has been ignoring my question. Thanks for the help.

Congrats, I ordered mine and it took about two months. It was before Christmas. But I also had a change in pick up location that complicated things.

If the car has entered production it only takes a week or two. If you are in California it’ll likely be delivered before end of this month as they produce west coast cars toward end of quarter to be delivered before end of quarter.

Congrats to you @Nando and welcome to TMC! I agree with @outie that typically Tesla delivers West Coast/CA deliveries at the end of quarters, so likely could be late March. Though Elon did at one time say that Tesla was working to "smooth out" its deliveries so as to not overwhelm any one area at the end of quarters - but I haven't heard that they have done that yet. So good chance you may get your X this month.

I ordered my on Dec 19, 2018 and picked it up from the Richmond, VA store on Dec 22, 2018. Three days!!!

For reference, I ordered mine on 2/4. Will pickup next week on 3/12. My was custom and had to be produced.
I feel your pain in the DS experience. I’ve found my most productive and informative communication has always been through the corporate customer service line.

Often, after placing an order, customers want constant back and forth information from their delivery specialists. Mostly is it ready yet?...is it ready yet?...is it ready yet?
Overburdended specialists know that all this interaction is totally useless, and consumes tons of time, so they tend to go into radio silence mode. You will not hear from them until they have all their ducks in a row, and can give you a definite time to pick up your car.
Then they will spring into action to get you in to pick up your car, finalize paperwork and arrange payment.
While this is not the most warm and fuzzy way to do business, it is the most efficient, and Tesla is all about making employees as productive and profitable as possible.

Relax, and go about your business. Don't stress about finding out all the details in advance. They will be revealed to you as you need to know them.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Nothing more annoying. Would love any communication from my DS. Even a “hey got your email and will be in touch”. What I’ve asked of mine I have waited days, more than a week without any contact. Same info recurved within 5 min through corporate. Data was there. Very simple. My experience with DS has been terrible at best. Very disappointed.
I am ordering my second one. I know to set the expectation low. It can't get any worse right.

When they ask for the money you will know its on its on the way. I ordered a P3 Feb 11 and they said end of Feb. Still no word. No vin.
Order to delivery times often vary based on when in the quarter an order is placed and where the vehicle is delivered, since Tesla tries to minimize the number of vehicles in transit at the end of each quarter (though this quarter, since they know they'll likely take a loss, they might not try as hard to minimize in transit vehicles at the end of March).
When we placed our orders for our 2017 S and 2018 X, we had difficulty getting Tesla to confirm when we'd be getting the vehicles (in Texas). We got different answers from our My Tesla dashboard, our delivery specialist and the local Service Center. This is an area I expect Tesla will make improvements, especially as they shift away from using stores for sales.

You guys are lucky. I ordered mine on March 2 and currently in production and due for delivery by end of may in Dubai though.
The wait's finally over, I'm taking delivery tomorrow! After looking at the order tracking sheet I feel lucky it only took 19 days from the confirmation to the delivery day.

I'm in the same boat. I've paid for the car (used the funds transfer feature) and Thursday, 21st March, I received a text message letting me know my MX is "tentatively" scheduled for delivery at my address between 10:00a - 12:00p on Wednesday, 27th March. My account page, however, doesn't show any delivery estimate at all -- it simply states the vehicle is in production.
It's also frustrating that the text message reads "...delivered to your address..." when I'd clearly chosen (on my account page) the option to pick up the car at the Tesla center in San Francisco. Which is it? Will it be coming to my house, or will it be at the Tesla center? I reached out to my Delivery Specialist, a few days ago, but he's not responding.
It's these little inconsistencies that breed lots of questions and, unfortunately, given they're probably in an end-of-quarter push to get cars delivered, they're probably overrun with questions and have reached a state of communications paralysis. I'm going to have to just wait and see what happens.
