Ordered a model X early April. Received a call on June 14 to pick up the car on the 19th. My wife and I took off work Tuesday to get the car. Received an email late Monday night, sorry the car is still in CA. So needless to say that didn't happen. The I received an email this week the car will be ready on Saturday, today for either a 2 or 3pm pick up. I called Friday and they said the car had not arrived, they would call me later Friday with an update. No Call! I waited this morning until 10am, called, guess what no car, say it is in KY, won't be here until Sunday night or Monday morning. 30+ new cars in my life and this has become the worst car experience I've ever had. Needless to say if I didn't want the car as much as I do I would cancel the order today! Interesting fact is 2 people used my referral code ordered their cars later and both have been delivered to them. This is a car where you can look at an app on the phone and supposedly tell where it is, and they can never tell me where the car is for certain? This is clearly the most ill run setup I have ever witnessed and Tesla really should be hiring support people in this situation and not cutting back, this clearly is not what I signed up for. Buyers Beware....
I went through almost the exact same thing as you with just as many runarounds and delays and I feel you. I felt exactly the same way until I got my car, and now I’m totally happy with it. Don’t worry, it’ll come and you’ll be happy
dramatic much? patience is a virtue. some people have waited far longer than 2 months. Thats the key word, you. Apart from special circumstances, nobody else can see your car's GPS location. Do you really want that complete lack of privacy if anyone with a Tesla login could see where you were? The waiting for your car part is the worst part getting a Tesla. that just means you're excited. it will come soon enough and all will be well.
I know it will eventually be here, a very important part of this painstaking process has been the complete lack of communication. An email the night before the first pickup, I had to be the one who called them today to find out it wasn't available for pickup today? Everything else aside this is very poor service in any industry.
The Delivery Specialist is the most overworked person in the purchasing chain ,,,if you really need an answer call the 800 number someone will always answer and patch you miraculously thru to the DS who will pick up the phone ..
I don't think being frustrated at delivery being rescheduled twice is being dramatic at all. Especially after taking time off from work!
Mine was delayed twice, and almost a 3rd time. Each time I was notified the night before and my wife and I had already taken the vacation day.
If you’ve ever shipped anything by big rig, you’d understand that often times they aren’t on time for a myriad of reasons and you also can’t get ahold of the truckers while they’re on the road a lot of the time because: driving. I’ve even had trucking companies *lose* my possession and it end up someplace hundreds of miles away. They once *lost* a car for TWO weeks. It happens. It’s an imperfect world when people are involved. Best to relax about things you can’t control.
Easy way to fix this would be to schedule delivery only after car was on premesis and had passed inspection. I saw a truck in front of our Tesla SC this morning unloading 8 Model 3s. Hopefully the owners weren't already at the dealership awaiting delivery
