Actually if you buy from Tesla, the warranty is not an extended warranty, but a new full 4 year/50k used warranty (the same as the original warranty). The drive warranty stays the same (continuing from original purchase).

so does it mean i have another 4 year/50K on the car from the time of purchase? without considering the previous miles?
might be sounding too basic a question...but a newbie here :)

Yes, so if you buy it CPO from Tesla, your warranty will reset to 4 years from the date of purchase, and 50K from that point of purchase.

Make sure that it says 4yr/50k in the description on the website, since cars with more than 50k miles will only have a 2yr 100k max total mile warranty.

So as an example, I purchased my X last month with 24k miles. For me my warranty will last for 4 more years or until I hit 74k miles.
