I have one thing that is bothering me. Maybe someone and explain. I reserved mine a year ago (5k) and it looks like i want receive it till the end of the year. If you go to the website and order today the delivery date is July. Is that July 2017?

More details please. What did you order? When did your order confirm? Also if you put these things in your signature then people won't bug you over and over again :)

It seems less profitable 75's are being held back. The website claim for july delivery is most likely only wishful thinking. Kinda like this X diet will lose X pounds by july so "buy it now!"

I ordered a 75D on 5/5/2016 received a VIN on 5/25/2016, scheduled for delivery in July - confirmed by DS.

Oder is a 75D in midnight silver, 6 seater,, upgraded to premium package, autopilot, smart air suspension. The DS called me at the end of April and said if I upgraded to smart air suspension I could take delivery in July, if not my 75D wouldn't be available until September at the earliest.

Sorry, actually ordered on 3/5/2015 - not 5/5

Ordered a Model X P90D (6 seats, no trade in) on 5/31/16.

Been assigned a delivery specialist whose communication has been pretty lacking.

Just curious how responsive they usually are.

Until you get closer to production you may not see much. Don't depend on MyTesla. They are not updating it very frequently. Your DS is a better source of info and likely is very swamped with June deliveries. I would recommend reaching out by email to introduce yourself. The first sign of movement will be when you get a VIN assigned. Then it is in production queue. That means it is in a queue to start production - not that it is in production. When it starts production you should get updates from your DS. Some folks get more detailed updates than others... so don't let lack of detail production info lead you to believe that nothing is happening.(but it is frustrating). After it is done production you have the wait for delivery. Since you (and I) are not in CA - it will take a bit to get the car to your delivery center. It could go by rail or truck - it depends. They are pushing to get completed vehicles to customers to make June delivery estimates so current delivery speeds seem much quicker than prior. I don't know if this production to delivery speed will continue past the end of June - one can only hope.

Good luck and welcome to TMC forums. You made a great decision to purchase a Tesla...Don't let some of the posters freak you out.. there have been some problems with earlier production vehicles and frankly there are still a few problems. But nothing that isn't worth working with the SC about. Reports from the more recent vehicles delivered are that the quality is much better and Tesla has worked thru many of the early problems. There are also some trolls and disrupters on the forums as you would find anywhere. You will find that most posters are genuine and make every attempt to be honest and candid about the experience.

Thanks! Well, interestingly enough... After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I called yesterday and spoke with someone who said they would let my DS know that I was still waiting to hear back...

And lo-and-behold today I get a VIN number!

BTW, I have an apartment in San Francisco, and I'm soooooo tempted to just take delivery there and drive it to Birmingham! :)

you may want to check out taxes - CA is very high and it varies from state to state how that works when you register it in your state.. may wind up paying 2x taxes.
