you may want to check out taxes - CA is very high and it varies from state to state how that works when you register it in your state.. may wind up paying 2x taxes.

Good point. As it is, it will be registered in Alabama, so we will probably stick with delivery to here, as well.

Ordered my MX July 19th, confirmed July 26th; Got VIN F016xxx; Here is my configuration:

MX 90D | Pearl White MC paint w/22" Silver Turbine Wheels | 6-seater, Black Leather, Autopilot, Premium upgrade | Delivery Early to mid September

If you delay delivery, they will not produce it until say November in your case. At least by ordering before October 15, you get the owner referral discount, and lock in any price increases such as what happened with 70D orders. Hope this helps your big decision.

@nuevodesi once you got your VIN, you can email your DS and ask him to track production. Some DS give details, others say it is in general production with no updates till ready to leave factory for Tejas. I had no news of my DS re: production steps. Don't pester, but don't be a fly on the wall waiting for him/her. You wont get your final MVPA until the car is at your delivery center. Just don't pay for the insurance or get your credit report pulled until DS tells you car has left Fremont. Then, the sleepless nights begin. Once it leaves Fremont, the DS can ping the car to tell you where it is at. Nothing on your Tesla page will change until after delivery, so don't waste time looking for updates, there will be none. Lots of sleepless, restless nights leading up to delivery day, then all waiting will have been worth it. Enjoy

Thanks, @jsollender !

My DS called me Monday and walked me thru the process, much along the lines of what you described. He is targeting a early September delivery date and so expects more updates around 3rd week of August at which time we should begin financing conversations.

I have ordered the Wall connector as well, which appeared to be back ordered. My DS assured me that delivery of the Wall connector will happen before the car is shipped. Apparently Tesla is coordinating Wall connector deliveries keeping in mind the MX delivery.

At the rest stop (the one with supercharger) in Orlando, Florida. Good luck :)

I'm seriously considering getting Model X, but really concerned about its recent spontaneous acceleration in South Korea. Should I be concerned about this? Any comments? https://investoralmanac.com/2017/01/01/korean-celebrity-sues-tesla-claiming-model-x-sped-up-on-its-own/

No, don't be concerned about it. It is a pedal mix-up issue (he accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, a very common accident), not a spontaneous acceleration issue.

Elon Musk says the new Tesla Model 3 sedan design was pencils-down and completed as of last summer. But documents filed by the automaker this week with the Securities and Exchange Commission sure make it seem like the sedan’s design is still in flux, and industry sources say the timeline to move the Model 3 to production by this July is a stretch, given Tesla doesn’t even have a beta prototype completed yet.
This is a Model X thread.

Hello! My first post here. I wanted to contribute my delivery time frame. Since mine seems to be a lot shorter than everyone else's I've seen on this forum. The dealership told me that Tesla has dramatically increased the Production speed and quality after May 15th this year. They didn't go into detail on what they changed, but I was a little skeptical about the "late June" estimated delivery date after having read all the posts on this page. So I was more expecting end of July. But to my surprise, things are moving a lot quicker than I expected. here is my timeline so far:

Ordered: May 30th
Confirmed: Jun 3rd
Production began: Jun 6th (the rep told me yesterday that my car's whitebody has already been built and is ready to go into paint)

Rep scheduled a tentative delivery date of Jun 29th

Anyone know what they changed at the factory?

Was at the Tesla Tour on the 7th. Very impressive, may have seen your Body in White. . It appeared Tesla has the lines running smoothly. All parts of assembly was running consistently. That's all I can say. Under non-disclosure.
