Model X Wrap and PPF Discussion

Without knowing what that claim might mean, I've got a full stealth PPF on my red 3 Performance and there's never been a single issue related to it from sensors etc. Hard to imagine what a wrap would do to anything on the car.

Regardless, we will definitely be getting full PPF on the car. From both protection but also ease of maintenance. You just hose the car down and wipe it off. Doesn't matter what is on it. I love it.
I have a full matte wrap on my 2020 X and have had zero issues with my FWDs.

I’m thinking about doing this. What was your original color? What color was your wrap? Any issues with seeing the door jams and inside of the doors when you open the doors?
White with clear matte 3M film wrap. No issue with door jams since I didn’t change the color. I love the look especially with the satin chrome delete and powder coat satin black 20” rims.

yes if done right, they cut around the sensors. Several Youtube videos show installers doing that.

Sounds more like satin or matte PPF. Unless I’m wrong haven’t heard of clear wrap. But agree, that satin/matte look is so beautiful.

But I did wrap both my cars and had zero issues with FWDs or prox sensors.

If anyone has a blue Matt/stealth wrapped X would love to see a picture along with info on what product you used… ty!
I do

I do

Cool looks amazing… two questions…

1. If you have the ppf, why do you need the ceramic coating on top of that?

2. What do you think would be a fair price today for the treatments you have?

Ty!

While we sit around the waiting room, if anyone has before and after pics (or just after pics) of their wrapped car, please post! It will help pass the time!
Here you can see the difference in the body look, doors have matte and rear panel is still stock clear coat.

Look up OCD detailing on YouTube. They do tons of teslas in stealth wrap. All colors look amazing.
They did the wrap on my Model 3 Performance and will do our new X. Poor guys keep having to reschedule me. But they do an outstanding job and Joe, the owner, is definitely OCD in the best way possible. He offered to fix things that I didn't even notice. They're about $8k for a full wrap plus ceramic, but you get a discount after the first car.

can you share pictures of the wrap and where is this? I got quoted 6,000 for a color change wrap in NJ which gave me pause. I would do 3800 in a heartbeat.

*edit - I'm a moron you wouldn't have pictures yet lol... But please do share the location.

Now that we are all getting close  -- well closer -- to receiving our vehicles, it would be fun to see who is planning to protect their cars through:

1. PPF (front only or full car),
2. Ceramic coating,
3. Wrap,
4. Doing nothing at all...

Hope this question isn't inappropriate for the thread....
I'm planning on full PPF and possibly adding ceramic on top to keep the dirt off.
