Hello!
I took delivery of my Model Y on February 21st 2022. It’s black and had 15 miles on the ODOM. When we arrived at the showroom the car was being wiped down and the whole showroom was huddled around the car, they then pull it into the maintenance/detail area and started trying to buff out a few spots. They finally moved the car to the front and the showroom continued to huddled and whisper around the car. I finally approached and asked what all he whispering was about and my SA told me the car had “a few more scratches than normal” and “had probably sat around for awhile” then pointed out a small dent on the passenger A pillar. Other than that the car looked fine and figured I could get it polished out when I put PPF on the car. A few days later I go to get PPF and the shop tells me that the cars paint/clear coat is totally etched and defective doing a few test polish spots with no improvement and I should look into getting the car REPAINTED, telling me I should not PPF this car in its condition. I’m currently in contact with my SA and they are “getting quotes from their local shop”. I’m just curious if anyone has had a similar issue or has a idea of what I could do further. Maybe I should of refused the car but I never expected it to be this bad. I’ll add some pictures below.
