The wait for VIN is rough.

Just curious, does anyone get a VIN assigned after June 24? I haven't heard any new VIN being assigned in Canada for a while. Maybe another month or so before the second batch?

I am waiting eagerly, refreshing pages like 5 times a game and it drives me crazy.

If there’s any wait before more VINs it’s because they were assigning VINs to people close to factory to get Q2 numbers up, even if that meant unassigning those cars from farther people. So those people will be getting the newest VINs before anyone else and then the rest of us waiting. I don’t expect that the factory is making cars any slower now than they were over the last month so hopefully that back lock clears up quick.

Actually I contacted my sales person (or delivery specialist) for my order and was informed "before the end of September but possibly sooner".

oh noooooo, September feels like forever from now... I really hope they can do it in July/August, before summer ends.

Right now all 3/X/Y builds are for Europe & Asia to ensure they get shipped in time for Q3 delivery & then early-mid August they will shift back to North America. As the Y is North America only, if they keep the line making Y then it should be August but if the tent where the Y is being built is building 3s then September makes sense. Also, they are supposed to move the Y line inside by mid July so there may be a pause on Y builds until then too

Just get a call from Tesla, someone didn't come for their car which meets my spec, asking if I can have a visit to take the car next week. The vin is 19xxx. Will it be a reject one? I accept to take the visit and will prepare the payment. Expecting the delivery while has a little bit nervous.

I think its equally likely that someone got scared away from taking delivery by all the posts about quality issues without looking at the car. Inspect for yourself, if its good shape you saved yourself a wait.

I think its worth remembering that Tesla will still fix a warranty covered issue, just not paint and some trim things that are hard to say if the damage happened after delivery.

Got mine delievered tuesday (June 30th), VIN 12xxx, with no issues. Only thing that bothered me was that I had up to 160km to check for delivery defects, and I live 250km away from the service center... Quite happy so far (it drives way better than my 10 yo Elantra ) and scheduled full wrapping later this month.

Got mine yesterday. Not to bad just little things here or there going to wait to get it wrapped until all the issues are resolved.

Only thing was it was vague when I come back to get it all fixed. Do I call in or do they call me. How do I set up the appointment.

You need to schedule a service appointment through the app to get delivery issues fixed

Under what do I select through the app? There Is nothing there for delivery issues

Just select what the issues are and note they are a delivery issue. The app schedules the appt but the SC will review and send you a quote and from there you can accept or email back. Your quote should show $0 when you get it and say warranty repair

After being told by the service advisor and the delivery specialist that the Canadian deliveries didn't have the hitch installed and I would have to schedule an appointment to have it done at a later date.
This morning I opened the panel and lo and behold it is already installed.

Off we go biking!

If you ordered the tow at the same time as your car, check behind the tow cover.
A few people thought it was not installed but it was actually installed at the factory and even the delivery centre didn't know it was there.
You can also check on your screen to see if there is a tow mode option

Excellent question, and good point- it seems like the last batch were sent out with greater haste to make the quarter. I don't even know we could see out VIN on our order page; is that how we find out?

Last week I recently refused delivery of a MY, VIN 19xxx... delivery experience and issues posted here. Hopefully it isn’t the same vehicle..

Got my VIN (again) today! This time the MVPA just showed up with a 24xxx VIN even though the page doesn't show the VIN yet. I refused the last delivery appointment for a 12xxx car because they would only deliver in Ottawa with pre-payment. I'll be picking it up in Toronto (Oakville) but don't have an appointment yet.

Anyone have any thoughts on insurance cost on a model Y ballpark as I know every driver is different. Rebates for any marking or locating technology? I am getting rates at least 50% higher than my Audi Q5.

I got almost doubled than BMW 335i. I will change my insurance company to RBC, which offers the same rate as my BMW. I was expecting MY would be little cheaper.
