I see Tesla's marketing department is consistent..... Why not just Model Y AWD to align with the rest of the line up.... Model 3, Model S, Model X are the base models. Then you move to LR, Performance, or Plaid as applicable.

Yeah no drone footage or CNN report from the grounds of Austin in the last couple of days so needed to keep the thread going with bantar on comparing apples to oranges.

Plenty of drone footage and photos from Giga Texas, actually more than normal.
Check Joe Tegtmeyer and the Texas Quad Squad. And why would you think of CNN horror shows?

Ok so there is no air suspension, got that out of the way. Anybody recognize the pack and dimensions, hard to tell but it look thicker thanb2170 size, any thoughts?

The battery pack has the seat mounts integrated to it, so that would mean it's a 4680 structural pack, not the 2170 standard pack, nor 2170 'backup plan' pack.

Yep - so far all evidence points to Texas initially making MYSR+ with a 4680 pack at around 68 KWh while Fremont continues to pump out MYLR.

Obviously as they ramp 4680 production higher they'll probably bring the new pack to all variants of Model Y.

It will be fascinating to learn the chemistry, price and performance details of the new MYSR+ / MYAWD (not sure what they'll call it)

It's been software supported for a while, which makes it more frustrating there isn't hardware out yet, in NA, to actually do it.
