Model Y heat failure soft recall?

Got this pushed to my model Y last night. Couldn't find another thread talking about it from a quick search. Looks like they are doing a "soft recall" over the heating failures. I wonder if they are pushing this as they have parts or they figured out what was causing the failures, so they narrowed down which cars could have the issue.

I got the same notice back in September. (https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/“service-request”-notification.240685/#post-5934777) I actually had my car in to the service center today to have the work done - they replaced the low and high pressure/temp sensors in the heat pump. (VIN 027xxx)

They replaced my PT sensors last year on my 2020 Y when I took it in to get the PWS installed. I wasn't experiencing ANY issues but gladly accepted their fix. They did find my freon was 1 pound low from the factory.

Same here. Got dramatic improvement in A/C after sensors changed.

I had my model Y in for service to replace a trim piece in July and they changed the PT sensors at that time.

I seem to remember this coming up around January, February this year. That a change was made and all older cars might need to have service to have the sensors replaced. Any subsequent cars would be okay. I think February was when they were around 120-130k vins.

Mine is vin 140xxx - failed the day after I picked up the car. Replaced the following week. They trucked it 600 miles round trip.

Uh-oh... I'm 144xxx, so I must be close but haven't been contacted yet. If I'm on the list, I hope I get a notification soon, winter is fast approaching in this part of the country.

Makes sense to me. Your heat will only fail if you use it.

Not sure if the Heat Pump is only used for heating the cabin. Might be used to heat up the battery and then it'd not be for cold climate cars only. Pure guess.

The heat pump is used to heat the cabin and the battery.
