Model Y - Homelink installation

Hi Folks! I took delivery of my Model Y two days ago (3/24). I already had ordered the homelink kit from the website the week before, so just got it installed today. Good news on the Model Y - no need to take the front bumper off - they just go in through the Frunk.

All up and running now!

Can't wait to get home and program it!

I ordered the homelink ahead of time as well. Should have my Y on Friday. Do you know if they can to the roaming service, or do you have to take it in?

Does the homelink unit tie to the GPS so you can have automatic open as you drive up to your garage? My X had that and it was nice the 50% of the time it worked!

If it is not working reliably, you may need to change the set distance or the geotag location so it trips closer to the garage door opener.

I got the Homelink box. I'm just waiting to add a car around it. Home delivery scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm! Have to try scheduling mobile service for install after MY gets added in my app. Hopefully it won’t take long.

Still disappointed at Tesla for removing this feature when it was expressly included at the time I placed order and put down $2500. Not cool Tesla!

I'm hoping I'll get $300 back at a later time.

sorry if asked already -- is there a diff homelink kit for the y or is it the same as the 3 (I cant find one that says y to order)

Odd, it appears as though the Homelink unit was temporarily removed from the Model Y page on the Tesla store.

I had the MY Homelink kit installed at the SC a week ago and it works great.

So I had my Homelink installed on 4/6/20, mobile svc tech couldn’t get it to work, said it was either hardware failure or software issue... ordered a replacement was scheduled to come back 4/8/20.... I go out to my MY this afternoon and what do I see... Homelink icon next to my WiFi... set up the parameters and now it works perfectly, geo fence and all.... I have no clue how it got fixed... I tested it out several times this afternoon/evening and worked every time, so I canceled my follow up appt

I called my service center, they said to create an appt in the app, make sure you put down in the description you want a mobile svc appt, if they can service with mobile tech, Tesla will change the appt to mobile... at least that’s what happened with me
